That’s fair Krindorr but my conversations at season’s end led me to believe Bentley had a little more value. I can think of three touchdowns Bentley would have had if Wilson throws a good ball. I don’t mean to dismiss Ryan’s talent at all. They did not want to lose him.
Yergensen’s comment below is simply ridiculous based on what coaches have…[Read more]

Carsen Ryan > Dallin Bentley and Landen King all day long. Don’t care what Utah’s depth chart said, it’s both coach speak and completely non-representative of the play we all saw on field from these 3 last season.
Ryan caught his targets, got YAC and outproduced both Bentley who looked like he didn’t belong athletically and King who ran more wr…[Read more]

I posted some of my thoughts on the NIL thread but I like how Krindorr shared his thoughts by position group. I’ll try and do the same.
First of all, Utah has a big advantage in talent over TSPP. And it’s across the board. This is due to our NIL advantage when it comes to Football. We are head and shoulders above them when it comes to Football…[Read more]

I didn’t forget Bentley and he’s part of why I said Utah has better depth and more options. But he has three catches in two years, so I can’t put too much stock in him yet.
I want to and I really do believe he’ll make a big step…but if I’m assessing based on what’s been shown, I can’t put too much weight on him yet. For right now, King is the…[Read more]

Homer,
I’m one of the guys on this board old enough to remember Stevens well. There is absolutely no comparison between the two except Dampier runs as well as him. Now that I’ve seen Dampier in person a few times, including the scrimmage last Saturday, I can tell you he passes well. Stevens simply couldn’t throw the ball – running back playing…[Read more] -

DE: Slight edge to Utah
Utah has historically had a very strong DE rotation, but has more questions than normal this year. Fano looks to be a stud, but the spot opposite him and the depth is uncertain. I’d like to see Kash Dillon lock it up, but it’s a battle between him, Fitzgerald, Holtzclaw and Jones.Meanwhile BYU has Logan Lutui as the only…[Read more]

It would absolutely not be a surprise if Dampier is a major advantage. At all. Like I said, he has electric upside and has some sources ranking him as one of the top returning QBs in all of college football. But I think it’s also fair to be wary about drinking the Kool-Aid too hard, too early. He was playing at a lower level and still has to…[Read more]

This is Fair…. Now Do Defense.
Also. I think Dampier is major advantage. not impressed BYJew at all..
Wasn’t impressed with Rez whatever at all. It is true Dampier is hype. But being in the same offense with that offense line is far superior.

Yea I posted this on 247 as well but I was shocked to see the number of TDS fans on ClownBoard going after one of their own with Krindorr. He’s been on there forever and always consistent about his posting and connection to both schools. Although I found it strange when I first came across Krindorr and realized he was a BYU fan, once I saw one of…[Read more]

Hey all, it’s been a minute since I was last on UteHub. I’m not sure if anyone will find my post helpful or not but I’ve noticed a lot of misinformation on social media in regards to NIL. I know there’s been a lot of hand wringing towards TSPP because of their splashy additions to their basketball team…I get it. But don’t confuse that to mean…[Read more]

As someone who follows both teams, here’s my thoughts – starting with the offense
QB: Slight Utah Lean…but with extremely High Variance
BYU had a great season last year, but a lot of it was despite Retzlaff instead of because of him. He definitely had moments where he rode to the occasion, but he also led the conference in interceptions and…[Read more] -

lol… that was biased wishful thinking/tongue in cheek joking on my part. I am Mongolian in every way other than genetics so my opinion on all things Mongolia can’t really be trusted.
Also, he is a great passer, and he would have been a solid piece on a good team.

I hear you man! Us fans are going to have to trust the process. Just because we don’t think these new commits may not look like Big12 caliber doesn’t mean the new coaching staff thinks that or at least can turn them into some diamonds from the rough! We have to give the new players and coaching staff a chance before we judge the books by their…[Read more]

The portal and NIL have made college sports a mess. Hard to blame a kid for going after the money, but when you are already well compensated, you should keep your agreement. I would be reluctant to bring this kid into my program if I were a coach.

Am I wrong? I have yet to see any justification other than bluster for why I’m wrong. I don’t know why I’m getting downvoted other than people just not liking to face reality. So far we have one guy who scored 20-ish a game playing for a tiny school, a guy who started half his games at mighty SLCC, a guy who was in and out of the rotation for us…[Read more]

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve been following this story, and it’s become kind of a tipping point for me. Agents, holdouts, threats to move on, big time college football has become completely professional without the guardrails that make all of the pro leagues stable, going concerns. So Nico Iamaleava initially signed a multi-year NIL agreement with…[Read more]

Happy spring, gentleman! With our not so favorite event: the spring portal opening next Thursday, any thoughts on where we might look to add and if we might lose anyone of significance? Does anyone know where you’d be able to find concrete data on NIL spending? There seems to be a distinct difference in payouts, with BYU opting to pay large sums for individual players, and Utah going for more of a moneyball approach. Ryan Smith rightfully gets sh*t for nosediving the Jazz until ~2035, but we may be singing a different tune on the…[Read more]
