ParticipantMeanwhile the zoobs are 3rd in the conference as we climb 1 spot from the bottom now currently at 15 with no 4 stars.. but hey lets increase ticket sales for a subpar product . whit needs to forks out some NIL money from his own pocket smh

ParticipantUntil we see how the House settlement will impact NIL/athlete pay in the real world, it’s probably best to assume that commitments from high schoolers carry as much weight as the promise rings they give their girlfriends on prom night.

ParticipantI refuse to give in to the online BYU hype machine, which is non-stop portraying Utah as some “has been” program that is falling off a cliff in recruiting and everything else.
Meanwhile, Utah is very possibly picking up most, if not all of the following:
Jaron Pula, 4-star receiver.
Keenan Pula, very high 3-star athlete/safety – just a “hair’s width” from being a 4-star (.89 247 rating)
Kelvin Obot – solid 4-star OT
Salesi Moa – athlete (I think Utah wants him as a WR) – high 4-starMoa would be the 2nd highest 247 composite ranking to ever commit to Utah – just a “hair’s width” below CPIII.
All these have yet to commit to Utah, so there’s work to be done, but it seems they are all Utah leans.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Utah got most, if not all of them.

ParticipantI fully agree. It is still early. I think we will pick up momentum. That kid is going on a mission first. I think we will have a better year than most think. Our offense can’t get worse. Let’s enjoy the ride.

ParticipantUtah fell flat on its face the past 2 years with the QB fiasco at arguably one of the most important 1-2 years. I’m worried at the affects.

ParticipantI think we all share the concern that a lousy 5-7 season hurts recruiting. I am not naive to that. But the Byu fan hype machine portrays Utah as a conference bottom-feeder, and that the program is done and over with. History.
Given that Utah is still well in the thick of having numerous 4-star players commit, I think the total “doomsday” scenario is just bunk.
In fact, if those players commit (being careful not to count the chickens before they hatch), I will be surprised at how well the class ends up, given the 5-7 season last year.

ParticipantI blame that all on Whitt! he should have benched Wilson when it was clear he wasn’t ready after 0-2/3. who cares about his NIL and his parents, and not having enough faith in Rose. Rose proved him wrong during the BYU game when he got injured in the 2nd half.
Whitt, IMO, has been a very poor judge of character at the QB position in his years at Utah.

ParticipantMeh, I can’t get excited for any recruiting news, good or bad. Nor can I get excited for any BYU-Provo Campus recruiting news, good or bad. The vast majority of these kids – at both schools – will be used sparingly or not at all as freshmen and end up in the portal.
I get far more excited about portal wins than recruiting wins.

ParticipantI agree. How teams do this year will affect commitments that can easily change. The portal will also adjust based on this years results. 2026 recruiting will only come together as players sign, for now they are simply noting their lean.
