Biggest butterbomb I remember is when he broke the news Manny Bowen had left. Let’s hope this isn’t also bad news.
Any insight about what this means?
Honestly not sure — unless he’s referencing JD’s return, but that’s been passed around Ute social media for a while now. Not sure he’d just now be hinting at that.
Pika followed whitt
Puka? He’s followed Whitt on Twitter since he was in HS. That comment on butterball’s post is misunderstanding what he’s seeing.
Yes, Puka, although, if he’d come here he could be Pika because he is electric!
Could it be regarding Veltray Jefferson?
If not Puka or Veltray, then Jaylen Dixon?
He followed up that tweet with a sad face emoji. Could we be losing a coach?
I’d hate to lose Ludwig, hate to lose Shah, Scalley I like but didn’t care for the coach in waiting thing.
Ludwig basically said he’s here as long as Whitt is HC. Scalley is kind of damaged goods, and I don’t think he’s going anywhere soon. Shah would be my guess for a poach.
I don’t care how much it costs they HAVE to keep Shah on the staff, he’s a lights out recruiter and just overall good dude
Scalley or Shah?
We need a category for “Vague Tweets”…
That is missing my favorite box for “hype train, full speed ahead”
Someone will complain about it.
I believe the worst case scenarios for this post are the following:
Shah gets poached
Ja’Qunden Jackson is out
Devin Lloyd decided to go pro
Charlie Brewer is out
CPIII is entering the portal
Ethan Calvert is out.
Take it for what it’s worth.
All this speculation from a Twitter emoji. Kind of crazy.
Sure it’s speculation, but this is a speculation thread…
.. Tom Holmoe was named the new pac12 commissioner ?
For sure. It’s just amazing how a tweet that says nothing can cause so much stress.
None of the above…but if true it’s not positive.
Good things happening but just believe this particular news doesn’t work in our favor…again if true.
This doesn’t sound good
Any clues? If true, is this supposed to happen by tomorrow?
Is it transfer portal? Opt out? Coach leaving? Any info you can give is always appreciated!
Bummer, since the death of TJ, which was an unbelievable negative, all the news has been positive. It will be hard to take a hit.
Wouldn’t at all be surprised to see Whitt step down. Gotta be hard losing a young man you grew to love and care for…
Bad moon not rising this season?
Whitt stepping away from coaching after the loss of Jordan?
Anything but whit .. that would be the worst
@OnlyU, it’d be great if you could put the Whitt rumors to rest if you’re in a position to do so. I don’t want to even entertain the thought.
Don’t speculate on Whit. If that was the case I think there would be a lot more noise.
Sure hope somebody hasnt been arrested for something
I think we would know right away if someone had been arrested.
BYU fans would have told us.
Not Whit…potential transfer out. Still not confirmed. Don’t want to add fuel to the rumor mill if not true. Would NOT be devastating but not optimal for sure.
Our quarterback room is quite full. That’s a lotta cooks in the kitchen at a position where guys wanna play quickly. Just my hunch.
Makes sense if it’s a QB transfer other than Costelli. Could see one of the WRs making a move as well. The Jaylen Dixon rumors seemed to be much about nothing so who knows what emoji post from a Twitter hack means. Off season banter is always good to pass the time, especially if Spring football is reduced or cancelled.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Enis. Almost anybody else and I’d be surprised. If it’s an experienced O-lineman that definitely wouldn’t be optimal.
@Utesbyfive, totally agree with you. Heard for months now about how Enis and his Mom are feeling like he’s not getting targeted enough. If those rumors are true, then I agree with OnlyU that it would not be optimal to lose him, but not devestating either.
I don’t think it’s Enis I also doubt it’s a QB. Even with the room full. My guess would be BT. And that would be a huge loss. Hopefully it’s not and it’s just rumors.
Why would the unquestioned WR1 transfer? When Thompson is available (back to T. Patrick) he is heavily targeted.
Poor QB play could make any top WR want to leave. What good is it to be the number 1 WR on a team that can’t get you the ball on a regular basis?
But the reality is BT (nor our other receivers) isn’t heavily targeted, not even close to it. Only 18 receptions in 2019, a relatively healthy year for him and a highly accurate year for Huntley = tight correlation between targets and receptions.
Yeah, BT would be a huge loss for sure. Tough situation for the WRs on the team. These guys have been very patient and working hard over the past couple years. There are some red flags with Holliday coaching the WRs considering development, recruiting, transfers, and overall performance. There needs to be more production from the WR position other than great down field blocking. Might be time for Ludwig to bring in a new WR coach for a fresh start.
