Wow, Mel Tucker sure made a great move for himself leaving Colorado for MSU. With big openings such as LSU coming available, naming Tucker as their primary target, MSU is digging deep to keep him…to the tune of a $95M or $9.5M/year over 10 years.

Hopefully the PAC’s new TV contract will close a large portion of the gap between us and the B1G/SEC. It will be hard to compete with these levels of new coaching salaries.

Goodness, has he had like one winning season as a HC? I would think smart money would like to see him have a second or third winning season to be considered for bigger money. They could be quite disappointed if he has only a few winning seasons. Can he keep it going after losing a few key players?

Yeah, this seems kind of crazy for such a short period of success.

Nick Saban, Tucker’s mentor, appears to earn $8.7 million per year. Tucker seems like a great coach – but this is a panic move. Shoot, Saban might jump ship for that kind of money.

Better hope Tucker works out reeeeeallly well because 10 years is a long time in collegiate coaching, and that is a lot of money.

I think the contract there is largely derivative of massive donor contributions but still…. Way overpaid. Good for him tho lol
