Duhwayne replied to the topic Some Football notes and a lead off talk of Stadium Expansion in the forum Football 7 years, 1 month ago
As networks hemorrhage cash and future revenues are an open question in an a la carte streaming environment, is it really good ROI to take on a remodel project with donor money? Isn’t this what has Cal on the ropes? If anything breaks up the PAC12 and current FBS system, this issue is it. Big tv audience schools decouple and realign with other big…[Read more]

Those two have been hazing each other on Twitter from before the season. Kuz tends to get the upper hand. The fans seem to love it. More is coming.

When we brought in Norm Chow, Utah dropped spread for power run and passing and retooled the offense and recruiting changed to match it. Clearly, Chow’s early departure hurt and while Brian struggled with what he had, he’s showing in the SEC that he could be the right call but too early esp with pieces left. The WR group seemed to have an attitude…[Read more]

Duhwayne replied to the topic Covey article everyone should read in the forum Football 7 years, 2 months ago
And that miserable feeling you get when you’ve sprinted, feel nauseous and are concerned of what might follow? Yeah, that happened to Covey as he relentlessly worked his way back into sprint shape. Only twice, he said, joking that he blames it on becoming reacquainted with the altitude.
I find altitude an issue too. Huge difference between s…[Read more]

Kids are fickle. Gach retweeted each school’s announcement of his upgrade to a 4*. Not saying it is, but it really has the appearance of a poll. Either way I don’t think it would hurt to like the Utah announcement.

Hey BGU, I hear you. Would be great to see Huntley play that well.
Re Lowell, my point was more that I wonder if we are evaluating 2017 based on what happened as an UDFA. I think his play dropped off in 2017 but still was pretty damn good. Other than maybe Vea and Maafala, who was obviously better in conference? He clearly had more potential and…[Read more]

Didn’t Stevie play at SC in 2016? I don’t remember. Maybe we’re counting years different?

Are we sure we aren’t piling on at this point? Lowell and Mokofisi were a great tandem for multiple years. Stevie T was great too. If you’re a coach with a guy that is good and two guys that are as good or better and they have an extra year to play, wouldn’t you start them?
Lowell started four years at Utah. That’s a grind. The NFL isn’t for…[Read more]

They were great. It’s a grind and they chose to retire I guess. Neither of them had great or complete combine numbers, and I think that speaks to their desire to keep going. Wishing them well.
