IIRC he couldn’t deal with Barry Alvarez’s micromanagement all the time, an he had a hard time recruiting to the school because Wiscy doesn’t lower their academic standards for athletes as much as most other schools do (…allegedly).

20 year expectations? Can’t do it. 20 years ago Nebraska finished undefeated and ranked #2. This was the last year of their domination. Steady decline since and look where they are now.
