USC is currently not well, however, the Y is not UCLA. I think a disinterested USC can win this game. They need to man up and avoid rolling gutter balls the rest of the way.

At the FCS level, I would not expect anything less from a QB that started several games at the U. I was shocked he didn’t do better at USU and I was sure he could have been very productive if he has stayed at the U. He would have beat out Bentley for the 2020 run, even after spending time at safety.

I absolutely agree with doing all we can to fill the HC – with cheep tickets if needs be. However, I would start the program any other time of the year except for just before this game. A lot of Y fans are coming to this game only, might as well have them make a donation to do so. Next week would be a better time.

I agree, we can’t accelerate to poor offense now by not using our QB in anticipation of poor offense that we may have if we become thin at QB. Remember, we still have QB3 so we would have to lose 3 QBs before we upset the recent plan to play QBs. With 3 games to go we need to reasonably expect that we can make it with 2 QBs. What team would not…[Read more]

Charlie replied to the topic Bill Riley thinks WSU would be our most difficult matchup in Vegas in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
When we faced WSU Rising was just getting started and is a lot more comfortable now. The OL has greatly improved since then. Thomas had 1 carry. Believe me, WSU would see a greatly improved Utah team.
In the third quarter vs OSU, Utah had a lead when Lloyd was thrown out of the game. After that Utah went from 3 to 2 LBs and OSU ran all over us…[Read more]

Charlie replied to the topic Bagley in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
Bagley was once quite funny when he was much closer to the center of the political spectrum. Along the way he became interested in an extreme and lost the interest of most in the state due to the spot he settled into. He chose to entertain a small audience. If he would have taken note of the great John Stewart, he would have seen that as John…[Read more]

I do think the December signing day is an issue, I wish it was latter in the month. It was needed to allow recruits to start school in January but I wish it was some time period after the regular season ends. The small advantage for us is if he is going it is useful to know as the recruiting gets very serious. There may be more.
I expect that…[Read more]

We have to trust the coaches. There is so much more that we do not know. We fans are literally like a bunch of aborigines, off the grid and in the desert wilderness, looking up at a jet in the sky and guessing what it is and how it flies. What we can guess is that the recruiting options we had mid October are not the same as the options we have…[Read more]

Charlie replied to the topic Am I irrational in thinking that Whit might, maybe bolt to another program? in the forum Football 3 years, 8 months ago
Goodness, this is like what if we get hit by an asteroid tomorrow. Of course it is possible but why not concern yourself with things that have some likelihood.

Is there any reason left that anyone would look at the SL Trib for sports? Or for that matter, is there any reason to read it at all anymore? It was my local paper for decades, now I find it useless.

Love Devin but Oregon’s Sewell is his equal. He was at the end of so many of our plays all over the field. However, Devin gets the defensive POY.

No matter how many time it has happened before it is very shocking to many. No matter how many possible causes, many will feel there is no excuse. As long as it happens again, there is not a powerful solution yet.
