I’m honestly more shocked that the basketball team beat Nevada on their home court. I didn’t think this team would win many if any at all road games this year.

Also, the basketball team is embarrassingly deep with our bigs. Van Komen didn’t even play last night, and he’d have a positive impact by just standing there with his arms up.

really really surprised. I knew this team had good young talent, but I did not think we would be winning many (if any) road games against decent teams, much less the first game of the year. Some things that stuck out to me (to be taken with a grain of salt because I really don’t think Nevada is any good this year).

you’re right, nothing has changed yet, but it will. I’m not claiming that the NCAA is going to change how it does things overnight, but the changes will happen, and they will happen by 2021.

thats not what I read. I read that they have unanimously voted to make it happen, and the three divisions of the NCAA now have till 2021 to make the necessary rule changes to allow for this. They voted to allow collegiate athletes to profit from their likeness in the same ways that any other college kid could do so.

of all time. Who would have guessed that that skinny happy footed freshman would have turned into the leader he has become? He has overcome more adversity than any Ute QB to date, and he just refuses to quit. I’m impressed!

Johnson held one of the best receivers in the country to ONE CATCH for 7 yards… I mean, part of the credit for that goes to guys like Anae, but that is super impressive. When is he going to get the recognition that he deserves?

Yeah, I would say anywhere in the 3-4 range. I think he is certainly better than Brian Johnson. I didn’t really ever see McCoy play so I can’t say how good he was. I also never saw Mitchell play, but I now how great he was, so I wouldn’t put Huntley ahead of him. Alex obviously is #1 or #2 with Mitchell as the other.

I’ve had similar worries, but I think the one thing you are clearly overlooking is the fact that Whitt is our coach. If we had a coach like Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, or Chip Kelly (or some other coach that likes to run up the score on teams). eh… Their fans all seem to think he is a game manager that is teetering on the edge of being benched. He is apparently not very mobile, and is not good at dealing with pressure.

They also seem to think that if his star WR wasn’t so good at playing defensive back Luton would have at least a couple INTs so far.
