Whitt would kill them but I would love it if Utah’s D painted their nails next week. That overhyped jackass needs a few more rude awakenings.

I knew that.,, sheesh. Yes we talked about Roth earlier this year. I completely spaced thinking he must have been a Utah player from the 70’s. Almost googled him.
Oh, and ND took a kick to the house while I was typing. Lay it on ’em golden dome!

Agree. That game has worried me since spring. 2nd road game and following UW. Even if Utah was as good as we’d all hoped this year, that was always going to be a trap game with the focus Sanders is putting on Colorado

Nope. Other than the obvious like Lee Grosscup, I’d never heard of any Utah players before I tried to walk-on. Errol Tucker is as far back as I go and only because worked out on campus during his rehab. Otherwise, I’m oblivious to anything that happened at Utah before 1988.

The bad P-12 camera angles were the reason the Vele catch wasn’t overturned. that ball never hit the ground but the replays were all pretty much shown from Mars

trust Tony to break it down in the simplest terms possible. I’ve been trying for 5 months to say the same thing

Tebow wasn’t afraid to throw the ball but he was playing for Urban/Mullen instead of Whitt/Lud. Tebow was also proof that a tight end with a decent arm could be a successful college QB.,,

I won’t take that bet because Tony needs the traffic. 🙂
Don’t underestimate the power of a great defense. We are seeing it right now in the USC/Notre Dame game. Every team has weaknesses. If Utah can start exploiting the ones for Oregon and UW.,, well, at this point Utah has as good a chance as anyone

3 picks now for Williams. Bye-bye Heisman and I hope Scalley has the Gabe Reid pass rush from the CCG on a constant loop this week.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic I am not going to miss PAC 12 refs in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
The rules state that:
1) lead with the crown of the helmet, or
2) forcible contact to the head/neck areaSo by #1, you are correct. But #2 is what leaves room for interpretation. And since the Pac-12 refs call anything close.,, I’ve said elsewhere that I don’t believe Bishop would have ever gotten flagged, let alone confirmed in any other…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic I can't believe we are 5-1… in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
The bigger question is how much was the ability of Utah’s offense and how much was looking good because of Cal’s D. CAL came into the game giving up 431 yards per game and 31 points.
The good news is that Oregon is the only team left on the schedule with a decent defense, even if they were only tested today for the first time in 2023. The bad…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Bishop in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
the explanation is Pac-12 Refs. I’ve watched enough games in other conferences to know that play doesn’t get flagged, even if it was technically the right call. Watch an SEC game and if the players doesn’t get carted off, it’s a no-call because they look at intent.
Bishop absolutely hit a defenseless player in the head/neck area. Bishop also…[Read more]

True. But with Barnes going to the hospital, I really didn’t think he would be available today either. If I had to be honest, pre-game I was expecting Jackson to run wildcat all game. Seeing a semi-healthy QB at this point in this season was a confidence boost

That’s a bit harsh. I wasn’t on the bandwagon based on what he did last year but I’m also not sure that we have seen what Johnson is truly capable of. I see less talented QB’s every week put up huge numbers so why can’t he?
I think many are not willing to accept how much the Whitt/Lud offense inhibits QB play. If you tell a kid every day to…[Read more]

15-21-128 doesn’t inspire you? That’s over 6 yards per pass! 🙂 And if you subtract Munir’s catch, it’s 20 passes for 87 yards. How could a receiver recruit not want to play for an offense that averages 4 yards per throw?

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Stanford’s WR Ayonamanor in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
they both were. And Hunter didn’t play him the whole second half. Hunter only matched up once it got to a one score game.
There was one play where both drunk-stumbled back to the huddles. Neither team left anything on the field and Ayonamor got the best of Colorado, no matter who was covering him.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic great day to be a ute in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
some don’t. it seems that those who still live in Utah can’t get past the parochial school though.
Utah hasn’t been in a conference with the parochial school for over a decade but I guarantee that if I go to an article at DN for either team, the same people will be having the same comment fight they were in the 90’s

Thanks. I fully expected that if he was healthy, he would get a drive or at least come in for a couple of RPO’s. Maybe Vaki was so effective they didn’t need it?
I’ll admit I’m grasping at straws trying to figure out what the offensive plan is from week to week
