And another UDFA Reid with Denver just got an INT

In a similar vein, O’Toole as an UDFA played well for Seattle.
And so far, so is Junior Tafuna also an UDFA for Houston.

“Years” being the last 2. Which 2 does qualify as “years”, it is the bare minimum to qualify.
And as has been said in other posts, last year Beck did run more than pass even in an uptempo offense. Which is a common misconception people have even thinking of Oregon and Chip Kelly. I’m Not comparing the 2 directly, but just saying.

Another thing to remember will be, patience. We fans will need to be patient as there will be growing pains. No matter how great or bad Coach Scalley ends up being, no matter how many years of experience he has, there will be adjustments and growing he will learn and go through.
I mean it’s not like any of us on this board ever overreact ………..

//r00t4Utes replied to the topic Explain the Nickel and Snowden in the forum Football 3 weeks, 1 day ago
The answer is as nuanced as is the nickel position.
You want to utilize the players versatility and strengths as best you can without taking away, from the defense, or further enhancing the defense.
Like my team the Phins on how they would use Ramsey, a top flight CB. They would utilize him in nickel, in safety and the traditional outside…[Read more]

Could go back to soft helmets and pads. Would say leather but I would bet technology has come further along that there’s better options.

//r00t4Utes replied to the topic The 'NIL Train', All Aboard? in the forum Football 3 weeks, 5 days ago
Strange topic, but ok.
I think most fans on this board aren’t against NIL. Most are on board.
It’s the rules or lack thereof where some fans are starting to tired, combined with transfer portal and the lack of enforcement of any rules, which honestly college has always had a tough time with.

Adrian Klemm hired by New England.
Not sure what if any impact it will have on the Utes, but looks like the Ducks will need to find a new OL coach, he was also the associate head coach and run have coordinator.

Well I know from reading this on here that it was rumored that U$C had previously blocked, I believe, expansion talks just 2-3yrs ago.

I hadn’t looked up or even really seen or heard any of Bentley’s stats at SC, other than he was a 3yr starter, got injured and Ludwig recruited him.
So with this stat my very first thought was progression from season to season? Then on top of that just like we would do with Huntley, how was his OLine and weapons around him, did his injuries…[Read more]

Man that sucks but as was said not unexpected after the depth chart came out.
Personally I liked DHC the most and then Green as far as RB’s behind Moss and more than Brumfield (nothing against Brumfield) but obviously there’s more than what I can and get to see that factor into these decisions. The little things like consistency and pass…[Read more]

I’m pretty sure many are joking or maybe some do not remember but the Vegas bowl is now basically the 2nd best bowl game the PAC12 has outside of the Rose Bowl and Playoffs of course.
#1 College Football Playoff. Champion goes to Rose Bowl unless they are selected for playoffs. The Rose Bowl gets filled by a Pac-12 team if champion is in the…[Read more]

Ohh SUCK. I hadn’t heard until just reading this.
My first thought after “SUCK!” was I wonder if it was related to Shelley leaving as well.
I really liked DHC and now Dixon coming into the season seeing what they would do being more heavily relied on.
Trying to make myself feel better thoughts… Hopefully this is a sign how far the U…[Read more]

//r00t4Utes replied to the topic Pac12 officially approves season restart Nov 6-7 in the forum Football 4 years, 11 months ago
I also saw the Boulder has very tight restrictions so the Buffs wont be able to start practice for 2 weeks, unless something changes before then.
I would also say the PAC12 schools in Cali carry the most influence where the same cannot be said for the MWC schools in Cali.

@McG
WRONG, that means Fuller is about to get a lot more work to try and live up to his rep as 2x probowler. Cause Jaylon shuttin’ down his side.
Really though it is obviously good he’s starting and it will be interesting to see how quickly he can learn and adjust on the fly with the limited off season.

Well I saw the news the other day but I hadn’t read anything on it until this article. I would say I like that it mentions officials training and he received national recognition for overseeing it at his previous job, lord knows PAC12 officiating has been one of if not the worst and most inconsistent for a while now.
When I saw the news I took…[Read more]

The only reason I have dislike for Oregon is not specifically related to anything other than Nike and the Nike $$$. Obviously none of us would turn it down if Utah had that same kind of “in” to help with their athletics dept and competitive advantages that comes with it.
But yeah that “article” reeked of both “we’re so much better why do we have…[Read more]
