Watched the OSU-Purdue highlights early and I couldn’t help but think how scary their throw game looks. The thing that intrigues me the most about that potential match up, though, is what that pass attack would look like if we eliminate their run game. Sometimes it feels like their run game gets overlooked in terms of how it opens up their passing…[Read more]

Penei did the same thing with Nephi two years ago. If you’re thinking anything negative about that, you clearly not an older brother (or you’re a really crappy older brother).

They haven’t really shown themselves capable of running up the score this year, so I would guess (hope) not.

Quite a few officials will be on campus this weekend. In typical Utah fashion (meant as a compliment given the track record), none very highly rated but the tape is excellent. With this one in particular, I feel like I could convince people it’s high school tape of Ed Reed, someone talk me…[Read more]

I didn’t see much in there about the development of the young bloods. Some of them have been very impressive during our run of form, and I can’t help but think there were some hard lessons learned early on that they’re benefitting from now.

Am I alone in preferring a poor win ahead of Oregon? Should be a very focused week of preparation for next week

One kick return TD, but no dumb turnovers to point to either

He had 8 tuddies in the last two games, so that doesn’t seem that surprising

Has the same feeling as the Tuttle situation. Maybe I’m foolish for saying this given the year so far, and maybe it doesn’t even manifest until next year, but I get major Baker Mayfield vibes with Rising, anyone else? Swag and a way of making s*** happen, no? Just me? I would love to see college Baker Mayfield lead my team, so I’m hoping I’m not…[Read more]

I was thinking the same thing. Pointing the figure at Coach Whitt, also with the spelling errors. He can only really point to Oline because ever other position has players highly recruited/ the transfers. It’s the only position he can go after now.

I hear you. The man was slotted to be a starter on one of the top defenses in all of college football and a Utah team is 60 minutes of “doing the damn thing” from being historic (conference champ, minimum of Roses with a win), and he thought something else was a better choice. It’s very interesting to think about.
One could argue it’s easy to…[Read more]

Definitely not looking for his approval or to change him. More than anything, I was curious to hear the argument against what would be the best recruiting class ever from an average rating stand point. I suspect it would be same old, same old i.e. not enough 4 stars/no 5 stars, but rather than assume, I figured he could voice his own thoughts.…[Read more]
