2008 National Champ replied to the topic Wow, check out tOSU's 2024 schedule in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
Michigan dominated 3 G5’s to start this year and no one will hold it against them. Beating bad teams is always going to be preferable to losing to good ones. The first time I see the committee give anything more than lip service to SOS, or even conference championships, I’ll start believing that it is a necessary component.
The only thing that…[Read more]

If Johnson wants an NFL career, he doesn’t need to go more than about 10 yards in either direction and play slot.
I may be misreading the market but it feels like he would have Shelley vibes in the portal. Maybe he gets a chance to QB at a G5 but the same mechanical issues will still exist. If Johnson is willing to put in the work to correct…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Big 12 Schedule 2024-2027 in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
when it comes down to human polls winning, no matter the opponent, is always valued higher than losing to a good opponent. The #2 team per the committee has played two teams with winning records to this point, neither of which is currently ranked. Their FBS opponent records are a combined 22-36. The only thing on their resume for 2023 is that…[Read more]

I keep hearing the same criticisms of Barnes over and over. So I decided to find some plays that counter the usual, 1) he’s a one read QB who, 2) can’t make quick decisions, and 3) is incapable of finding the open receiver.
There’s a guy on an Oregon fan site who I have linked before. Here’s his breakdown of the game from an Oregon perspec…[Read more]

Time to throw Logan back into the mix? Because Baylor is staying as a non-con game, I don’t think they’d add an 11th P4 next year, especially after the difficulty of this year. Record matters more than SOS, regardless of what the talking heads say.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Commit Hunter Andrews tape in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
Swan is the lead recruiter so he’ll probably get the first look at LB.
For comparison, Andrews runs an 11.1 hundred. Roughly the same as Randle. Mitchell is a 10.8 guy and Stanley (got the throwback on the kick return Saturday) is a little faster at 10.75.
Team speed isn’t really an issue for Utah, should they ever want to go with a “quick”…[Read more]

The numbers Nix has put up in that offense are just too good to ignore.
At Auburn: 34 games, 628-1057-7251-39-16, 59.4%, 6.85 y/a, 11.55 y/c, QBR’s of 125, 123.9, 130
At Oregon: 21 games, 500-672-5930-50-8, 74.4%, 8.82 y/a, 11.86 y/c, QBR’s of 165.7, 178.6What QB with one year left wouldn’t want to fill their combine audition tape with…[Read more]

I don’t know. I could see Rising running that Oregon offense at a pretty high level next year.
Lots of hype moving to a new conference so there will be plenty of eyes on him. NIL money isn’t an issue. Would be able to get up to speed against a very manageable non-con schedule with games against @ Michigan and home Ohio State down the line.…[Read more]

I’m not saying Rose can’t do the job. The truth is that I don’t have a clue whether he is capable or not.
The post I was answering made it sound like the only choices were a Rising who did not play in 2023 or an incoming Freshman. Perhaps I made the wrong assumption but I read the post as Rose, Johnson, Barnes, Bottari and Howard not having a…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Jim Harding in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
very fair. I’ve always considered the boosters, facilities, etc., everything other than the team itself that would make a kid want to go somewhere as part B and team success, coaching staff, playing time as part A on why I would choose one school over another. It makes sense to split the outside funding off from the rest as it is not guaranteed,…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic I have lowered my expectations in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
Rising and Kuithe playing but nowhere near 100% was baked into my prediction. I thought the team would be 5-3 at this point with those two playing at least half the games so far. My only miss was them winning the first two, but Baylor was this [] close to being a loss anyway.
I was skeptical about that Arizona roadie – 4th tough game in 5…[Read more]

I guess I’m considering the resources as under the school umbrella and you have them as a separate entity?
