Let me put it this way:
1. When the non-SEC power conferences decided to form an alliance, the Big 12 wasn’t invited to be a part of it.
2. When the non-SEC power conferences had a chance to poach any remaining Big 12 member they wanted, they all declined.

It is now the P4.

Until 2025.

The new hierarchy in football is now as follows:

SEC

Alliance (PAC12, ACC, Big 10)

Big 12, ACC, MWC, WAC

Everyone else

As a person of the LDS persuasion, I hate it that these videos exist. Because every time I try to tell someone from out of state that “Mormons are pretty much just normal people”, I feel guilty because I know these videos exist and they prove that I’m lying.

I get the feeling that BYU-Provo Campus players and fans got a dose of reality last night. I think most of them realize they’re not all their coaches and the media hyped them up to be. I think if Utah scores on their first couple of possessions, they will get demoralized pretty quickly.

^This. Never underestimate the advantage of having played an extra game early in the season. UCLA made huge improvements between game 1 and game 2, like most teams do. They looked quite pedestrian against Hawaii.

It’s a good short-term solution for BYU-Provo Campus, but that conference will cease to exist in 2025 when the remnants get pulled into the Big 10 and PAC12. The Big XII is the new Big East. Provo Campus will be independent again within a few years.

At this point, the BYU-Provo Campus game is just another step in the process of building towards conference play. They’re just a G5 team that’s better than Weber but worse than what we see in the PAC12.
