PlainsUte started the topic Bye week recruiting trips… in the forum Football 5 years, 7 months ago
So with the bye week I expect the Utah coaches will be on the road this weekend to catch some Friday Night Lights in key recruiting hot spots or for some must-get recruits. What will the coaches’ travel itineraries look like this week: California, Texas, Florida, Vegas, more remote in-state locales???

Interesting to see the breakdown from their perspective. For good reasons (they are fans, alums) they are going to slant toward UW but still the consensus is very close. Reading that I get more convinced that Moss will get his yards and that the UU defense will stop their run game (56 yds/game that is impressive run D!!). So the difference…[Read more]

Not allowed here – partially because they don’t want athletic recruiting among schools. Of course there are exceptions for various reasons. If two brothers chose to go to two different schools does that mean they really weren’t that close? Their parents were gluttons for punishment? At one time in my life my 5 siblings and I were going to 5…[Read more]

Great late-night fun thanks to near perfect execution by the Utes! Just enough snarky comments — not that I’ve ever posted anything like that! Since the Mrs. Plains is not a big football fan and I live 1200 miles from RES its my best opportunity for game-time interaction with other fans, thanks!

How many people are keeping up with the NFL scores and fantasy stats on their phones in the ward pews? Or, better, getting their latest John Dehlin podcast update?

There are consequences for our actions. This dentist is old enough and smart enough to know that. He probably teaches about it to his kids, maybe even at church.
Agree the retribution against him may be too severe, especially considering the collatoral damage, but I’m sure its just short term. How many people getting really negative about him…[Read more]

Weather systems are now synced to come through on the weekends. A front will pass through Salt Lake on Saturday afternoon. This will reverse wind from south at 20 mph to northwest at 20 with gusts to 30; then moderating by game time to NW at 15 mph. The air mass with this one is fairly dry so there may be a line of showers associated with…[Read more]

There are prima donna’s in college, too. One thing about the pros is that you could delegate a lot of the day-to-day stuff and without the recruiting filling-up the entire off-season (even during the so-called quiet periods they’re probably looking at film of prospects) there’d be times to kick back and relax in the off-season (not the entire…[Read more]

Once I hurt a finger in the same way, landed badly jumping off a ladder to avoid stepping on a shrub. Can’t do this to your thumb, but I taped it to its neighbor for awhile. Turned purple, but I could tell the bone was not broken. After about 6-8 weeks I went to a hand specialist because it still hurt if I gripped in a certain way or put…[Read more]
