How did our Utes lose to OSU?  Their offense dominated our defense.  Our offense did not play badly against OSU.  (We did miss a couple of goal-line opportunities.)  But, our defense was pathetic.
Is Colorado improving and finding themselves? IMO they have improved some but OSU just isn’t as good as I once thought.  Remember, they were beaten by…[Read more]

  • Screw that – the good, the better, and the best.
Good – Lloyd is very good.  Another great game.  He may get the defensive player of the week once again.  He should be a top-ten NFL pick.  The Utes recruited a very good athlete and developed him into an All-American linebacker.
Better – Three guys ran for over 100 yards.  I have never seen a Ute…[Read more]

I assume that this may mean that McKee is out.  But, maybe Ute fans are feeling confident.
    Go Utes!!!

  • From our friends n the cougar board:
Like really, I don’t see why any recruit would choose Utah over BYU at this point. BYU is now also in a P5 conference. The Pac12 is sort of seen as a joke. BYU is currently playing better, is historically way better, has better branding and marketing, has groundbreaking NIL deals, has better uniforms, has a…[Read more]

  • According to this MSN Sports article – UCLA and ASU may be looking for new football coaches.
“Kelly is one of 10 coaches given a 4 out of 5 rating here, labeled “Start improving now.” There are only two coaches who earned a 5, or “Win or be fired,” making Kelly essentially in a massive tie for third place for most likely to get axed.
    No Power…[Read more]

It started at 6 and went up from there.  I suspect a lot of Utah money is being bet.  But, has news come out on the status of McKee?  The last report I saw was from Tuesday when he was listed as questionable.

  • Would be nice.  However, as I have said before – I am most interested in playing well and progressing.  Of course – if we do that the Rose Bowl should take care of itself.  I am not so interested in backing into the South championship because ASU loses 2 more games.
I really want to see our team play well and win.  I think our best seasons are…[Read more]

  • When we play Utah again in 2024 it will be five years since Utah beat BYU in football.  My response will be, “Utah has only lost to BYU once in 15 years.”
I think it is a bit funny that Utah could be 8-5 or maybe even 7-6 and go to the Rose Bowl and the cougs will be playing in the Independence Bowl.  It is funny, but if I was a coug I would not…[Read more]

  • They ran for over 220 yards against Stanford last Saturday.  Our rushing game has been great the last few weeks.  I suspect we will be running a lot Friday night and using the pass to set up the run.  However, everyone thought we would pass a lot against UCLA’s good rushing defense last Saturday and that did not happen.
The good news is that our…[Read more]

  • He has stated that Alligear is as good as Moss was in 2019.  He is entitled to his opinion and Alligear is a very good RB.  But, …
Samson is starting to rub me the wrong way.  Samson was given many opportunities at the U and now he has gone totally blue.
His brother, Puka is a total stud at Wide Receiver.  He will be in the NFL IMO.  I hate…[Read more]

  • Not bad for someone who has only started 6 games in his college career.
Utah is now rated the 21s most efficient offense in the country.  If you just looked at what we have done since Rising has started – I am sure the offense would be top-ten.
We are an offense that is trending up.
Kincaid is rated the 10th most efficient tight end.  Tavion is…[Read more]

  • He said that there were more than ten recruits at the game Saturday night.  Many of these are 2023 kids.  He said Huntley and other former Utes were there for the evening.
The best news IMO is that Glover and Johnson were there.  They had both already made their official visits.  They came on their own dime.  This indicates to me that these two…[Read more]

  • That Rising was a good, but not great QB.  He said that Rising is not an NFL prospect.  My response:
Look at where Johnson and Huntley were as Sophomores with little game experience.  Rising is much further along than each of them was.  I would also contend Rising is right there with Alex Smith’s sophomore season.  As a junior – Alex was a…[Read more]

  • We did not come out as strong as most of us (including me) expected.  BYU beat us fair and square,  They won in the trenches and simply punched us in the face.  We were not ready for them and you knew it would happen eventually.  I am honestly not too bothered with that game.
Now, the SDSU game is another story.  We were again beaten in the…[Read more]

  • I thought the line would be around 10.
I was surprised to see ASU -8 against USC.  But, with USC’s big weapon (London) out for the season, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
No way BYU loses to a USC team without London.  On top of that, most, if not all of the USC coaching staff will be looking for new jobs 5 minutes after that game.  They…[Read more]

  • If there is one thing I have learned in the PAC12 this season is – don’t take anything for granted.  ASU was a 15 point favorite yesterday and got beat up by WSU.  This is how I see our remaining games.
Stanford – Not a great team, but they were good enough to upset Oregon and beat USC early in the season prior to all the turmoil.  Unlike many…[Read more]

  • – Tavion is our RB1.  He needs to be in the game.
    – Our Oline has improved A LOT.
    – Rising seems to be a good leader
    – It seems that our receiving targets will be our tight ends, Covey and Vele.
    – Our 4th down defense was terrible!
    – Our defense overall is not your typical KW and Scalley D.  We are young, so I hope for a better future.

  • I didn’t know that.  Just saw ESPN highlight him on a good block that led to a TD.
I’m curious why he left the Utes.

  • when the season is over.  If they had a great season, maybe the administration could look the other way with everything else.  I think he’s toast after today.

  • In 1973, we traveled to LA to play UCLA in the Coliseum (they played there until the 80s).  We had a good team.  We had just beat Oregon.  UCLA was very good, but some thought we had a chance of upsetting them.  Very few games were televised back then.  I remember listening to the game on KALL 910.  Bill Marcroft was the announcer and Niel Hansie…[Read more]
