Eagle…it’s funny how we think alike…I have a number of Adidas Ultra Boost shoes…I have the black ones and then the red Nebraska ones. You get rid of the big “N” and they fit right in with Utah gear. Here’s what they look like: Nebraska Ultra Boost

He is anxious to learn when his season will be starting.
23 September versus UCLA or 29 September versus Oregon State.

I totally agree that this is a historical game for Utah. If they win, it would cement their brand in the nation’s consciousness. If they lose, all of the detractors will be out saying that Utah is just generation’s version of Houston or SMU (who were both dominant teams in the SWC at one time), a flash in the pan that will now go back to their…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Last years game in the forum Football 1 year, 10 months ago
That’s what made last year’s loss so frustrating. Even with Richardson playing Superman, the game was there for the taking. Can you believe that Utah had three drives that went inside the Florida 10-yard line and that got zero points? That’s the loss right there. Just get three points and it’s an easy win.

I don’t think we see Cam until the UCLA game at the earliest. Maybe even not until against Oregon State on 29 September.

Seriously, I don’t think we see Rising or Kuithe until the UCLA game at the earliest. The first three games are obviously important for CFP posture but that’s about it. Just my gut, but I think KW really wants to win this last conference championship and will give Rising and Kuithe four more weeks to recover from their injuries.

By the way, Jalen Kitna was absolved of all child pornography charges. Talk about getting your life ruined for no good reason. He’ll have that stigma over him for the rest of his life.

I’m just shaking my head. A lot of people are talking about 30 year old Austin Armstrong as if he’s Bill Bellichick. So far, the biggest takeaway I have from him is that he’s very aggressive and likes to blitz a lot. There’s benefits and drawbacks to that. I know that last year his defense at SoMiss gave up quite a few big plays (30+ plus),…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Welcome Florida Gator fans in the forum Misc 1 year, 10 months ago
You must have been around Utah fans. I was surrounded by Gators and there was a lot of yapping going on. Funniest thing was one blue wearing Gator woman sitting next to me that told me “I’m actually from Salt Lake City” and me telling her “I’m actually from Miami.”. The confusion in her eyes was priceless.

I’m specifically talking about USC and Alex Grinch’s defenses. One time is an anomaly. Two times is a coincidence. Three times is proof.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic ASU Bowl Ban in the forum Football 1 year, 10 months ago
The fallout from the case has already been significant, as it has led to five full-time coaches leaving the staff or being fired, including defensive coordinator Antonio Pierce, alleged as the ringleader who created a culture in which rule breaking was rewarded. Pierce and former offensive coordinator Zak Hill are among the coaches no longer on…

Riley is world-class at coaching and offense and poaching other team’s QBs. He got Murray from A&M and Mayfield from Texas Tech…nothing wrong with that.

“Basing one’s assessment of a team on game one against a bad team is silly and we should all know better.” You sound like those USC fans who are giving USC fans a pass because it was ‘Week Zero”. Well, it was “Week Zero” for SJSU as well. It sure didn’t look like SJSU opened up the playbook or did anything special and they still gained 400 y…[Read more]

They play at Notre Dame the week before they play Utah. Hard to see how they come out of South Bend with a victory. Just like USC upgraded the QB position last year by enticing Williams from Oklahoma, so has Notre Dame by getting Sam Hartman from Wake Forest. Just like USC talks about getting revenge on Utah at the Coliseum, so does ND talk…[Read more]

Well, that’s certainly a reductionist approach to the issue. All you’ve done is describe a complex phenomenon (how a team won a game) in terms of its simple constituents (they scored more points). Were life so simple…
