UteDuke started the topic What a game! in the forum Football 6 years, 6 months ago
Wow, what a game by this team! I felt that they had a chance in this one, but I didn’t know they’d be able to take it right down to the wire!
The loss hurts, I get that. It is going to skew things a bit. I personally felt like Troy and the rest of the team played a great game. We missed some opportunities, and that cost us. We have a lot to look…[Read more]
UteDuke replied to the topic Speaking of Tuttle in the forum Football 6 years, 7 months ago
I’d say we are recruiting him because he is a fantastic QB and perhaps an even better guy and leader. It’s true that Taylor’s system is supposed to work best with a mobile QB, but if you listen to his interviews it is also supposed to be adaptable to the QB’s strengths. One of the best examples of this is what he did at Folsom with Browning, who…[Read more]

Praying for Fitts and Huntley! It will definitely be a blow to have them out for any length of time.
Credit to Troy, Chris Hart, and everyone else who stepped up when called upon!

UteDuke replied to the topic Travis Wilson vs Tyler Huntley in the forum Football 6 years, 7 months ago
Absolutely agree with this. Travis may never get the respect he deserves, but count me as one fan who has gained a greater appreciation for what he brought to the team when he was here. I personally don’t feel like the read option or that pitch on the outside have been the same since he left. Didn’t always make the right decision, but when he was…[Read more]

That’s what they said initially for Fitts last year too. Is it certain? Would hate to lose him for any length of time!
UteDuke started the topic The Carrington Effect in the forum Football 6 years, 8 months ago
Darren Carrington II brings so much to this team if all works out and he can stay out of trouble. What he means to the offense has been talked about here already, but what about the defense? One of the consistent critiques of the otherwise stout Utah defense has been the inability of the corners to cover some of the top flight receivers of the…[Read more]
UteDuke started the topic In regards to this season's game with BYU in the forum Football 6 years, 10 months ago
I’ve heard a lot of opinions from both sides of the spectrum on our game with BYU this coming football season. I think this article best summed up my feelings though:

UteDuke started the topic The Utah rushing attack in the forum Football 6 years, 11 months ago
The rushing attack is in a very interesting position going into this next season. All the talk seems to revolve around finding a suitable replacement for Joe Williams, and the fact that the Utes have a deep stable of potential talent to fill that position.
What I feel is a huge point that has not been discussed nearly as much, is how the running…[Read more]
UteDuke started the topic Troy Williams in the forum Football 6 years, 11 months ago
I’ve heard a lot of mixed opinions from fans about our incumbent quarterback. Troy was a big time recruit out of high school, but hasn’t seemed to show that same ability on the college level. A lot of the blame for last year’s shortcomings may rest on A-Rod’s shoulders, but how much? I like Troy and his commitment to Utah, but my questions are…[Read more]
UteDuke started the topic Continuing the trend of trying to have good football talk in the offseason, in the forum Football 6 years, 11 months ago
Which of the fall incoming players are you most interested to see in camp?
This recruiting class has a lot of potential, especially at some of the positions of need. A lot of those players could be pretty big for us, but who are you most excited to see now? This excludes anyone who participated in Spring Ball such as Bateman and…[Read more]
UteDuke started the topic Is it possible Utah's secondary may actually get better than last year? in the forum Football 7 years ago
The secondary has been one of the main question marks after losing every starter but Chase Hansen to graduation or the draft. That is a major obstacle for any team to overcome. That being said, there is a fair chance that the Utah secondary could be even better this year than last if some big things go our way. We might have what we were missing…[Read more]
UteDuke started the topic Considering how big a win in the Coliseum would be this year, in the forum Football 7 years, 1 month ago
I think it ought to be one of Kyle Whittingham’s top priorites to find some way to allow the Utes to wear their blackout uniforms despite being on the road. The Trojans really seem to struggle against those.
Also, if they happen to return a kick on us for a touchdown we shouldn’t be too concerned as long as we can get them into fourth and short…[Read more]
UteDuke started the topic On closed practice days will we still get a report? in the forum Football 7 years, 1 month ago
So I know that many of Utah’s spring camp practices will be closed to the media and public this year, but I heard talk on the board that you can still go watch at the fence? If this is indeed the case, does anyone plan on keeping the rest of us up to date on what is going on?
Utah did a fantastic job yesterday with his report, and I am going to…[Read more]

I am listing each player in order of where I believe they will rank on the depth chart. Disclaimer: I do not claim to have spelled any of these names correctly.

UteDuke started the topic What do you think of this year's "rivalry" game with BYU? in the forum Football 7 years, 2 months ago
I know there are those on this board that would prefer that we not discuss TDS at all, but it is our first real game of next season and will tell us a lot about the team. In addition to that, I got into a discussion with a pretty disallusioned BYU fan and needed a place to use actual logic to evaulate the game.
The way I see it, I expect that our…[Read more]
UteDuke started the topic I'm so sick of my favorite teams being consistently dogged by bad offensive play in the forum Football 7 years, 3 months ago
Kansas City’s loss tonight is just the latest wound. How is it that everything Utah or Utah related (The Chiefs because of Alex Smith of course) struggle so intensely to put points on the board? The defense prevented the Steelers from scoring a single touchdown and they still couldn’t muster the necessary effort to come away with the win?!

UteDuke started the topic Thoughts on the National Championship and how it relates to Utah in the forum Football 7 years, 3 months ago
First of all, the game yesterday was outstanding. I don’t know that I could have imagined a better, and frankly more ironic, end to the college football season. I was thinking a lot about our Utah team while watching the game, and here are some of my thoughts:
1. Alabama’s linebackers are unreal. They made plays all night and dismantled Clemson’s…[Read more]

The 2009 Utah vs. Alabama Sugar Bowl game was playing earlier on the PAC-12 Football in 60. It is easily one of the most mentioned games, is it the best game in Utah Football history? If not, or even if so, what are some other candidates that should be considered?

The PAC-12’s chances of getting a team into the playoffs just increased significantly. Louisville was a hot pick to steal away one of the bids with Clemson also being projected to grab a spot. Houston was in the backfield on virtually every play and gave Lamar Jackson fits.
