Everything with this team starts with defending the run. This team reminds me of 2017 when we finished 7-6. We may finish with a better record this year but will be better in the years to come.
this is a very young 2 deep that will be better next year and likely peak in 2023
ridiculous. Go look at the 2 deep and see how many underclassmen we have playing pivotal spots. this season was always more likely to be 2017 than it was 2019. I know its disappointing on a few levels, but relax. Let this roster develop and then call those types of shots. this roster likely peaks in 2023.
Topic: First 2023 commit!
Kid looks like a total stud. Last week he put up monster numbers. 200+ yards on 8 carries. Committed instantly after getting an offer from the U. Gotta love it.
New commit out of Tooele2021 Starting QB: Charlie Brewer
He is the best QB on the roster and I don’t think it’s as close as KW & company are saying. But this day & age w/the transfer portal, we can’t afford to have Cam Rising transfer, hence the coach speak about the close competition. With that said, Rising is one snap away from being the starting QB. Also, Rising is the odds on favorite to be the 2022 & 2023 starter. So having Rising transfer could set us back at the QB spot a year or two. We need him to be ready to play this year and to be the man for the next 2 years.
But I believe Charlie Brewer was promised the starting spot before he even stepped foot on campus (this is based off my 100% lack of inside sources & my zero connections to the program) and will lead Utah to our first PAC 12 championship!
GO UTES!
First, I just want to point out that I truly appreciate the Utah coaches prioritizing in-state guys. It may just be this year, but our top targets are the kids in our backyard. I remember thinking years ago that if Utah could keep the best kids in the state, look out college football.
I have my fingers crossed for Lander Barton. I don’t think we’ll be able to snag Carson Tabaracci nor Cody Hagen.
Tapuvae Amaama (Skyridge) He said that he grew up a Utah fan but we didn’t offer him. He’s camped at some blue-blood programs this summer but Utah hasn’t offered. Any idea why?
Tausili Akana (2023 Skyridge) This kid has almost every blue blood program coming after him. A man can dream right? The kid was embarrassing players as a Sophemore. Just unreal. It doesn’t look likely from my POV that we’ll get him.
Last one I am curious on is Dallas Vakalahi. Kid looks like the stereotypical DL from Utah that goes pro.
