In honor of Jameis Winston (yes, I know…wrong school), the only acceptable thing to eat is crab legs.
12-1 with a win in the P12 Championship game will get us in EASY with our schedule. Still not easy, but if our only liss is to USC or Oregon with a win over the number 1-2 team in LV, we will be a playoff team. I would be shocked to see us 12-1 P12 champs and left out.
IMO the only comparable QB’s to CR are Alex Smith and Brian Johnson, they happen to be 2 of the best to ever do it at Utah.
It sounds like your opinion of him isn’t quite that high, who are his comps at Utah in your mind?
One can only hope. They are a villain in conference realignment, and have done everything possible to damage conferences that they don’t control. They’ve also tried to extract more money out of their subscribers by shifting more games to their ESPN+ platform, for an extra charge (as opposed to ESPN3 streaming that was included with the regular ESPN subscription). Their manipulation of the CFP and bowl games is not to the benefit of the sports fan.
Recruiting staffers change all the time. We’ll be fine. Blechen is the main guy who runs that department and hires everyone, he’d be pretty tough to replace. The others do a ton of hard work and do a great job, but we’ve continued to build upon success in recruiting even after replacing pretty much one or two assistants in that department every season. Amaama did a great job, and a lot of recruits loved him, but we only knew him so much cause he was more active on twitter and used to be a player. Tennessee probably got him to tap into the Poly pipeline more. Ethan Russo recently left to run UNLV’s recruiting department also, he is a stud, but we’ll be fine without him too. Trust in Blechen to keep hiring home runs.
Mike Leach! Only ‘Bama coaches don’t get fired in the SEC, so by that time, he should be available.
According to ASU’s attendance records, over the past 5 seasons, they’ve only sold out 2 games vs USC, and 2 games vs Arizona.
I wouldn’t worry about not being able to get tickets.
Whitt does better with early games that matter. So often he is comfortable in OC games early using them for teaching, rotating thru backups, and letting players understand what he has been talking about. He really only cares to win these games and views them as more of a teaching tool. No style points. Last year was just strange with OC games.
We are at the point that the next OC must have play calling experience, which is very different from coaching. It does go hand in hand with QB coach. It would take years of experience to be in the neighborhood Ludwig is in and there is no reason to go backwards. Our experience has taught us it is a crapshoot to hope a playcaller from a lower level translates to success at this level. Meyer was a rare find that translates to success quickly while moving up. BJ is awesome, when he was here he was only laking experience which he how has. I believe his wife is from here which along with his own good experiences may help draw him. Let’s start with successful play callers, the higher level the better.
It occurred to me that Ludwig is kind of on the old side. He’s basically said (IIRC) that he’s done when Kyle is done. So… who’s next up? I hated the idea of retreads before Ludwig worked out fantastically well, now I’m okay with it.
The only guy currently on staff that has any chance at tge job (were it to become available tomorrow) is Harding… which I’m sort of okay with?!?!?…? Fred Jr.???
anyone else NOT on staff we should keep our eyes on?
