Without defense, you can’t stop them from scoring points!
But without offense, you can’t score points!
Any questions?!

Is this thread an opportunity to hate on the users as well as the team?! I’ll take it!
Hoping fans and team have their shit together in Pullman. Pullman is Boise without the tropics. C’mon Utes, dammit.

Btw re the Urban hire. Utah was a stepping stone school that is trying to be a destination school now. Urban was never going to stay.
We’re not USC. We’re not even UW or ASU. Whoever replaces Whitt needs to know how to do Mormons and Polys. Actually I hope David Shaw is fired the year Whitt retires. That would be a great fit. Power O and great defense.

Nebraska dropped Bo Pellini for too many “disappointing” nine win seasons. They went from a 70.9% win percentage under Pelini to 46.3% win percentage under Riley/Frost.

Revenge of the Nerds is as old as the gray hairs on your ass. These kids have no idea what this is about and isn’t funny even if they did. The worst is that there are a host of overweight middle aged guys trying to fill the cavernous void by acting like they have something to do with football. Fine to talk to yourself and among the audience. Not…[Read more]

Puget Ute replied to the topic Wash St. student group urges fans to not refer to Utah as "Utes" in the forum Football 6 years, 10 months ago
I’m curious to know where the ‘many’ of the people in the tribes they refer to are complaining about the use of the name? Is this from the one or two people who complained about it a few years ago? The actual tribe continues to endorse the U and will continue to provide the halftime show on occasion.
The official Ute tribes endorse the use of…[Read more]

The difference is we RESPECTFULLY use the symbols and name. WSU appears to want to prevent students from using the symbols and name in a derogative fashion on signs, posters, chants, etc (a la the zoob chick with the ‘Go back to the Reservation!) sign a few years ago.
Respectful use of the team name should be just fine.

Sure. What I know is after he’s gone and Utah settles into the bottom of the conference, you’ll call for the next one to be fired. And the one after that. And the one after that.

Not which was the best performance, but which season got the most out of the available talent.
1: 2013 2: 2011 3: 2015 4: 2014 5: 2016 6: 2017 7: 2012 8: 2018
I give the nod to 2013 over 2011 because we were more talented on O-line and at RB on the 2011 team (an injured James Poole was our 2011 RB). -
Duhwayne replied to the topic Life After Kyle in the forum Football 6 years, 10 months ago
Yes, actually. In terms of staying at Utah, of maximizing our recruiting pipelines, in terms of development and players into the league, and in terms of defense and special teams, absolutely. Offense is a problem. If he could get even someone like Grimes to come and stay five years, we would win some very big games. Norm Chow was perfect if he had…[Read more]

Why would it be Whitt’s last year at Utah? Get out of here with that nonsense.
Whoever you bring in will be a step down. It’s the same issue for coaches that it is for players.

First, the pro style offense is dead. Every team in the NFL has largely abandoned it for spread formations on most downs. And there simply aren’t enough high school QBs running that system at a high enough level to even have the raw materials for developing a game-changing pro style QB at the college level. And if Tuttle coildn’t beat out…[Read more]

jrj84105 replied to the topic Ok so I added the video of the Covey hit in the forum Football 6 years, 10 months ago
Huntley read that wrong. Really wrong. The unblocked DE has committed to Covey, and Huntley has two lead blockers sealing the opposite DE if Huntley keeps and goes around the other end. I’ve been blaming Harding for the lack of misdirection in the run game, but that was perfectly set up for a Huntley keep and he made the wrong read and about…[Read more]
