Well, I’ve spent the last 15-20 minutes searching on the internet and I haven’t been able to find anything stating that the NCAA has made the rule permanent or even extended it to this bowl season. It’s possible that it could have been just a one off associated with Covid.

LOL… there’s a concept in life known as “is the juice worth the squeeze.”. Is JJ worth what it’s going to take to keep him or would you be better off using that money on other players? Professional teams in all sports have to deal with this situation all of the time. Sure you want to keep him but not to the detriment of the rest of the team.
