  • Not to worry. Realize there are 11 other teams in the conference with as good or better resources that are driven to win conference games. We don’t stand out and above the other 11. The conference will always be a fight every week for us. The southern division champ seem to always have a loss or two, we can’t become discouraged by our first…[Read more]

  • 1. I think we always wanted Phillips inside due to height but the greatest need is outside so he was needed there. A 6’+ CB is needed since we are on the short side. Our CBs play both spots but I am sure it remains hard to move them around. We miss JT.

    2. We need to run Jackson in the wildcat and I expect he could pass often enough to keep 9…[Read more]

  • I was also disappointed to see the punt block issues from a few years ago return. Got to shore that up.

  • The call that went against Lloyd was huge. I could not tell if the guy on his back was pushing him into the QB or if he was simply tackling Lloyd. Either way, Lloyd was going down from the guy on his back and his momentum carried him into the QB. I don’t think there was consideration for what the third player was doing. It seemed Utah went to…[Read more]

I expect today needs to be like the last two weeks. OSU will move the ball on several drives but the red zone defense is key to keeping points off the board. The offense will be there often enough and has multiple ways they can go but our red zone defense will be the top key.

  • The current forecast has the rain quitting in the 8:00 am hour. The rest of the day is 20% chance until 4:00 pm when the chance of precipitation is zero for the game hours, then rain after midnight. Let’s hope that forecast holds up.

  • Not all the time but for the most part, the name schools literally pick first. There are exceptions but fewer than you may realize. USC, Oregon and Washington generally pick first in our area. Next, Utah competes with ASU, UCLA, Cal and others without an advantage. We will get very few that also have an offer from Stanford. Then there are SEC…[Read more]

Tucson in awesome. Already mentioned, Saguaro National Park – West(best) or East and Pima or the Boneyard at Davis-Monthan are quite uncommon things to see.

Go out Friday and return Monday, expand the weekend and the price drops.

  • I would give WSU an edge. Before Monday, WSU’s arrow was pointing up and the Y’s was pointing down. The WSU drama may help or hurt them, as for the Y, they are unchanged with an arrow pointing down. I think unity to resist drama carries WSU past the Y but WSU will be diminished in the remaining Pac games.

Actually, vaccinated individuals can still get infected and are likely to be asymptomatic. Better yet, recovered individuals are much less likely then vaccinated individuals to get others infected. Individuals that are immunocompromised have risks from many sources in addition to COVID and need to take precautions even with COVID eliminated.…[Read more]

I don’t mind them making it a requirement but the process was total BS. With all the months they had the powers to be should have ruled on the exemption with plenty of time to allow the vaccine if the exemption is denied. But to rule on the request for exemption on the same day to let him go is government that is not in the interest of any of…[Read more]

  • The approach by the Bills is good and Moss will do fine.

  • Should have kicked or run the edge again. Allen could have taken it in if a pass play broke down.

  • It was not good that we lost to the Y. However, going forward if they get one out of ten, as we already know, will do very little to make you happy. I very much expect Utah to finish the year ranked and the Y will not. Simply think of it as a stumble with a mid major, accept openly that it was an awful mistake, and turn the discussion to that…[Read more]

Lot’s of reasons for Lander to stay in SLC. His mother Mikki is a Utah fan in a way much unlike any instate recruit’s family related to other recent recruiting adventures. The family’s base is Utah beyond even all they love about the university. He may venture off to Texas but the U is as likely a landing spot as any other.

  • UCLA and ASU have not lost their last game this season. ASU will beat Az., however, all their remaining games will be up for grabs. UCLA should loose to Oregon. If Utah wins their next two games it will wrap up the southern division even leaving room for a loss to Oregon. I don’t expect USC to remain in this level of disarray. The players…[Read more]

The Utah staff has done and continues to do an awesome job of recruiting. The Bartons have zero complaints about the process. Athletes get to choose to sick around home or go for a new environment. Other schools also have much to offer. Last, in the last decade or so the talent in Utah high schools is much too great to think that the local…[Read more]

  • Late in the game I noticed that as well, actually my son pointed it out. I thought he was buried in the LB depth chart. I was wondering if someone was dinged up. Still, he was putting quick pressure on JD from the edge. Nice to see his versatility. His dad was an amazing player and man, if he is similar he will be awesome. Love that he uses…[Read more]

  • Charlie replied to the topic Wrist down? in the forum Football 3 years, 10 months ago

My experience has been a hand, fist, back of hand, hand holding the ball, all are ok. If the forearm or elbow touches, the player is down. So the back of the hand or any part of the hand is ok. From what I saw in the replay at the stadium, I did not see the forearm touch.

  • Yes, make ASU try to win without JD’s run yards on broken plays.

Setting the edge is hard enough on run plays. On broken pass plays it gets so much harder because so many defenders drop back from the LOS and the pass rush desperately works to get the QB. Into the play there becomes a lot of open space with few defenders, then of course, QBs are…[Read more]
