who is ripping on the players for not coming back sooner? I made the dump Cam argument that you referenced, and (right or wrong) I wasn’t ripping on him at all. I never suggested he should have come back sooner, or he wasn’t trying hard enough, or anything of the sort. I merely suggested that it may have been better for the team had the coaches…[Read more]

Totally agree. I don’t see why it matters. Why should we get to know who is hurt, in what way, and when will they be back?
If not knowing who will play causes you anxiety, my advice to you is find a more healthy hobby.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Shouldn't our offense be better? in the forum Football 1 year, 10 months ago
You may be correct, but you are arguing something completely different than what OP suggests. They are suggesting that the biggest issue isn’t the QB uncertainty, but something else. My read on OP’s comment was that they felt we didn’t have the level of offensive talent that we should have by now. I could be wrong though.
To address your point…[Read more]

Have you not been paying attention for the last several weeks? It’s not just Rising we are missing. We are missing Kuithe, Rose, and at least one OL. We are missing Bernard, and Jackson has been playing injured.
You are drastically underestimating the level of injury problems we are experiencing. How good would USC be if their best receiver, two…[Read more]

We pounded the rock just fine against Baylor when we couldn’t pass.

The two QB thing was hard for the entire offense because it was like we had two different offenses to run depending on who was playing QB, and that changed so often that it was hard for anyone to get comfortable.
I think the two QB thing hurt Barnes more than anyone. It has to be hard to get into a rhythm when you get taken out every 3 plays or…[Read more]

Now that the Weber State game is up next, and we know quite a bit more about our team than we did this time last week, what are you hoping to see?
We now know that Johnson deserves to get any playing time that Rising doesn’t get until/unless Johnson shows that the Baylor 4th quarter performance was a fluke. I would love to see Johnson take the…[Read more]

I think Simote Pepa will make a bigger difference than O’Toole. Pepa was the guy that turned things around for our D last year. Having guys on the inside eat up blockers does more for the pass rush than any amount of talent on the outside could do. I can’t wait to see what this team can do when healthy.
I disagree on Vele. Not that I’m certain he…[Read more]

My point was simply that the conditions were rough. Playing on a field like that would be torture. That’s it. That’s the point. I’m not making excuses for the slow start, just saying the on-field conditions were brutal and I would not want to play on a field like that.

True. They’ve played two bad teams so far. Think they’ll have 3 losses at least by the time they get to us, more if they have injury issues.

It is absolutely, 100% clear that Nate is the QB behind Rising going forward. The difference his presence made with the entire offense was obvious, just like when Cam came in for Brewer against SDSU.
Mikey Mathews had a great 4th quarter. He’s the best WR recruit we’ve had since Covey.
Every one of Jackson’s yards was hard earned. What a beast…[Read more]

I don’t know. Vaughn screwed up once. Battle screwed up once or twice as well. I can forgive a CB for making one mistake. It’s not an easy job.
