chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Landon Morris in the portal…what could it mean? in the forum Football 2 years, 7 months ago
Maybe he just isn’t good enough to get playing time here? We had plenty of tight end injuries, if he was good enough to matter he would have made an impact this year. If he’s transferring that means he likely wasn’t getting playing time in the RB with our two starting tight ends out… Which means he just isn’t that good.

How does everyone think we’ll do in Pasadena without CPIII and Kincaid?
Obviously it depends on who Penn State has skipping the game… But I think CPIII being out won’t as huge a deal as it would be against a team like USC. Penn State is a run first team (or so I hear), and their passing game isn’t all that great supposedly, so I think we might…[Read more]

Utah doesn’t just offer kids with no stars… so there must be something that other programs aren’t seeing, or just some reason that he hasn’t been evaluated in general.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic I’m having fun imagining JJ and Nate running the offense in the forum Football 2 years, 7 months ago
Saw a picture of him celebrating the CCG victory with a rose in his mouth. Kid already looks like a linebacker. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope he can throw a football.
If he can, he’s going to be dangerous. Then again, if he can’t, it would be pretty great to have someone with his size/athleticism on the team regardless of position.

Can you imagine how awesome our ground game could be? Two guys with elite speed ready to take it to the house every play.
There are a few things that could derail such an offense. Most obvious among them is Nate’s ability to throw accurately. If he’s even a decent passer, he’ll be difficult to stop.
so much fun! -

Really nice of Smith to give him a shot when coach Poop at TSPP wouldn’t. Sad it didn’t work out for Baxter. He absolutely dominated us before his most recent injury. Dude just couldn’t stay healthy.

Jay Hill leaving has hurt our team. He did a phenomenal job with the special teams at Utah, and he did a great job with the defense at Weber St. He’s going to do his job well. I have no idea if he’ll be able to recruit well, but he will work hard, and do his job the right way. When Grimes left, you guys were not able to replace the presence that…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Who is the leader of our defense? in the forum Football 2 years, 7 months ago
Glad someone actually took some time to try and answer the question I actually asked. Your theory makes sense I guess, just haven’t heard much about him being the leader on the field (or anyone else really). It will be interesting to see how the depth chart shakes out next year with so many solid contributors returning all over the field. There…[Read more]

He is going to make them better. He should be the HC there. Better and more qualified than Kalani ever was. Hope things work out for him in some way.
Their HC and coordinators are all from Whitt’s coaching tree. Kind of funny that their fans often dog Whitt, but the three most important coaches on their team were taught by him.
My ideal scenario…[Read more] -

Yeah… I’m talking about right now though. Just wondering if there is anyone that has taken on that role, or if it’s more of a team effort

Going into the season, I think one question that many of us had was who was going to be the general on the field for the Utes defense this year. While the defense has played quite well as of late, I’m still not completley sure who the guy is that quarterbacks the defense these days. That is mostly because I haven’t been able to watch many games…[Read more]

Watching the game the other night the commentator said something along the lines of, “it’s nice to see Brandon Carlson get in there and block some shots, since he doesn’t really do that very often.”
WTF dude? he’s average like 2.5 blocks a game this year, and has had nearly 10 blocks in a game at least once.

and the power of the culture that Whitt has established hit me pretty hard. The two guys sitting there as two time conference champs were cast offs at a much more “blue blood” program that has had an awful culture for years.
These two guys, cast offs of one disgustingly wealthy blue blood absolutely brutalized another disgustingly wealthy blue…[Read more] -
