The timing is usually the best indicator. Kids have until mid-January to put their names in the draft. Announcing to transfer or enter the draft before their team plays in the postseason usually means that they are done playing for their university.

I’m glad State is back on the schedule but I would like to know why Harlan seems allergic to getting 7 home games when it is the practice of every other P5 to do so. For years with 5 conference road games, there should always be 3 home non-con.

Ryan coming doesn’t say anything about Kuithe since they don’t play the same position. It’s just an opportunity to correct a recruiting miss from 2 years ago at a position of current need.

you can only play for one team per season which includes Bowls & conference championships. The portal doesn’t work like a trade in the pros where you can be on one team on Tuesday and suit up for another team on Wednesday.

mediocre is a little harsh. I wish they had been better as a group but you can’t really grade an O-Line’s performance in a vacuum. PFF tries but I’ve never really bought into their analysis because an individual effort may not translate into a successful play.

The O-Line is the one place where I’m not worried about having experienced bodies. They will need to play better as a group in ’24 but there are plenty that have starter experience.

2016 the entire O-Line went to the league but I don’t remember how many were drafted. Bolles obviously, and Asiata was UDFA.

It was obvious in October that this wasn’t going to be a very good class, rankings wise. At this point, they are just trying to get bodies on board since apparently Rising coming back hasn’t proved to be the recruiting boon that this board believed it would.

You’re right that Utah’s offense wouldn’t have provided Daniels the opportunity to win the Heisman. The only way Rising sniffs a Heisman in any offense in the country though is if every other QB and 90% of running backs take half the season off.

Blair and Ballard were rated 94 and 92, the #3 and #7 rated JUCO’s in 2017. They weren’t projects that were turned into stars due to some innate “Scalleyness” in safety coaching and recruiting

Garret Bolles, Marquis Blair, Corrion Ballard. All were brought in to be immediate starters. So was BAM but if it hadn’t been for the extra covid year, he’d have been a washout.

Farther back would be Booker and John White. JC guys fill roster holes with proven college experience.

JC is part of portal recruiting, not HS. The only reason to take a JC at this point is you believe that they are ready to play immediately.
