IMO, Jaylon is one of the best players to have played at Utah. He was a true shutdown corner.

Many of our top recruits have been cornerbacks. I hope we land this guy.

ProudUte started the topic Laumea and Bishop score well at combine in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
Bishop had a good forty time of 4.45. Vaki did not score well and had a slow forty time of 4.62. This surprised me. I saw Vaki make some great runs this last year where no one could catch him.
Bishop probably helped himself. I see him possibly drafted in the second round.

ProudUte replied to the topic Will someone with a CougarBoard membership please hold this Zoob accountable? in the forum They So Poo Poo 1 year, 2 months ago
The Cougar Board’s hate for Utah knows no bounds. They will try to spin everything (and I mean everything) to show that BYU is better than Utah. Just this week they were trashing the Hunstman Center as a trashy, ugly arena.
On the one hand, BYU is a better football program because they won a NC and have a Heisman winner. Utah has a better…[Read more]

Apparently, the Big 12 has the weakest nonconference schedule in all D1 basketball. They are doing this to boost their net ranking. Interesting …

Are we interested in this LB from Stanford? Since he has graduated, he is available immediately. Utah recruited him out of high school. Are we interested?

That’s crazy. Let’s say that 15 get drafted. That’s just nuts. No wonder that they won the NC. Also, not surprising that Harbaugh left. It has to be a rebuilding year for Michigan.

ProudUte replied to the topic Joel Klatt’s way too early preseason poll – Utah #8 in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
This got me wondering how the CB responded to this podcast. Here are a few of the posts;
– Still trying to understand the annual over-ranking of Utah
– It’s especially confusing because the teams that are always overrated have won some national championships.
– The national media get their information from the local media which are all biased…[Read more]

ProudUte replied to the topic Joel Klatt’s way too early preseason poll – Utah #8 in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
I don’t buy it – YET. I want to see how this team plays in the first 4 weeks. Can we replace two outstanding safeties? Can our offensive line improve after losing two NFL-caliber players? Will Barton play or not? Can we find a 1000 rusher? Will our new receivers play as advertised?
I think we could be a top 8 team. But, for me, I need to…[Read more]

ProudUte started the topic Whitt ranked 3rd best coach in college football in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
That’s quite an impressive group of coaches and Whitt is ranked 3rd. I realize that rankings like this can be subjective. But, we are lucky to have Whitt here at Utah.
Kyle Whittingham simply knows how to build a football program. Utah teams are immensely tough. It shouldn’t be a surprise — as the team builds its identity around…

ProudUte replied to the topic Utah needs to embrace being “the villain” in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
I’m with Tony. These lists are stupid and subjective.
Tough team. Great defense. Efficient offense. If that’s being a “villain” then fine.

ProudUte replied to the topic Funny to hear others say the same thing about LES in the forum They So Poo Poo 1 year, 3 months ago
Thanks for posting. I enjoy it when our Cougar friends post. I only quibble with your statement about taking LES on game day over RES. RES on game day, when they wear all red or the blackout games, are amazing. I can’t speak to LES on game day because I have not been there since the mid 80s.
That being said, I think stadium smack is silly. I…[Read more]

ProudUte started the topic 2024 Polynesian recruiting in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
I read an article recently that said Utah went 0 for 12 recruiting Polynesians this recruiting season. I thought that’s not good. The article is somewhat wrong in the Utah signed Ellis and his dad is Samoan.
Nonetheless, this year was not a good year for us in landing the top Polynesian players. The Polynesian connection has been the…[Read more]

Pedro, I respect your opinion on this matter. However, I don’t completely agree and apparently, many others also don’t agree. But, no hate from me because you have a different opinion. I appreciate you having the guts to post something you feel that may go against the majority on this board.
Keep posting.

ProudUte replied to the topic New Offensive Analyst: Urban Meyer's son-in-law. in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
This may be great news. He has had some great QBs at OSU like Stroud. Utah needs a QB “whisperer” to help develop our young QBs.

Thanks for posting this article. It’s a good read. The article first said it was kneed surgery he needed and then it talks about replacing some femur and cartilage. The bottom line is it will come from a cadaver and they need a match. The article also says he will not be able to walk for three months. So, it is not an easy surgery.
