For real? Even football coaches out recruit Craig Smith for basketball players.

As always live your work. Allow me to quibble on a few points:
JJ is not just considered a top young corner, he’s considered a top corner period. PFF top rated NFL CB in 2023.
Dalton Kincaid is not only the top TE in Buffalo, he’s looking like Allen’s top weapon in 2024. He was second only to Diggs in 2023 targets. Diggs is gone. He’s a starter…[Read more]

Smith is dead man walking. He doesn’t have a way out of this spiral. His talent has left, is leaving. He hasn’t replaced it. It’s moot anyway, he doesn’t recruit well. Compounding this is two assistants have left him, which will defocus him a bit from recruiting. He hasn’t won the support of the fanbase. He’s heading into first year of play in a t…[Read more]

It’s interesting Miami, the devaluation has led to a RB shortage. Some supply and demand effects going on with the position right now.
Question will be whether this drives up RB salaries. Regardless of pay, RB will always have the shortest NFL career life.

Press conference post draft, Lions coordinator talks Vaki at RB. However, I think it’s also evident he’ll be used on special teams. Question is whether they’ll use him a safety as well.

Interesting reports on Vaki coming out of Detroit. They see him as a RB. He met with their offensive coaches prior to draft, big defensive coaches.

Craig Smith is out of his depth.

Yergensen replied to the topic One single play that changed the trajectory of the program in the forum Football 1 year ago
Yergensen’s 50+ yard FG in 1993 to beat BYU 34-31 in Provo. It turned the tide on the rivalry, which was one-sided for 20 years. It started Utah’s evolution into a football school and the program it is today.
SDS trajectory peaked in 1996 and has fallen over the same time as Utah’s rise. It’s foundational to be the alpha in your own state.

Any insight or inside information on why we didn’t sign Ephraim?
Legacy kid, good talent and clearly works thru adversity.

I would suggest Skinwalkers, but we don’t need any curses on top of our small market challenges. So, Soakers it is.
Seriously though, I like Utah Saints a tribute to 1990’s electronic music duo and you know…the Mormons. I also like Cutthroats or Yeti (not Yetis)

Whoa! Cormani McClain, that would be, as they say, a huge get.
@MDUte – do we have ties to the Miami RB that you posted is in the portal?

Yergensen replied to the topic Now spring practice is over – what do you think… in the forum Football 1 year ago
I think our RB problem statement is that is unclear whether we currently have a bona fide Utah RB1.
Job description of Utah RB1: workhorse, physical yet big play capable, 3-down back (run, block, catch).

“I decided to transfer because I felt the offensive scheme wasn’t right for me. They don’t throw the ball a lot.”

Whit from today on the QB2 battle: “It’s a dead heat,” Whittingham declared. “I would say it’s as dead of heat as it could be right now, but they’re both getting better, which is key.”
For anyone following, the battle has moved from neck and neck last week to dead heat, deadest of heats. Looks like another QB battle going down to the wire.

100 pts, Big Rick rolling in his grave.
Defense travels, this team doesn’t.

Whit’s defaults on any QB race, “Dead heat”, “neck and neck” and “too close to call.”
Now Whit has trouble evaluating QB, he’s turnover averse and a defensive coach. At the same time we were told by insiders the Rising & Bentley QB battle, which according to Whit came down to a photo finish, was never close all along and Whit knew it was Ris…[Read more]

OnlyU, I’m sure you know this already. Some of his FSU game highlights show some nasty blocking. It may not show up in practice as it would be friendly fire, but he could be key for us in the run game as well.
We’ve slept on Pittman, that’s for sure. I hope he and our best WR talent gets sufficient reps and targets. We need to scheme and rotate WR better.

My interest piqued for a moment thinking you were referring to a possible 2nd round Women’s Bball tourney matchup with Iowa and Caitlyn Clark.
Instead it’s a Men’s NIT Bball reference, interest no longer piqued, apathy re-activated.
