I think we evaluate safety talent as well as anyone. Five stars or no stars, if we think a safety prospect has ‘it’, we’re usually right. Ugo is long, fast and athletic, and hits hard. Looks like a Utah safety.

IMO number 4 is a bit of an issue. Not only did we not have an Anae like pass rusher last season, there wasn’t much of a pass rush at all. For our defense to fire on all cylinders, we need to consistently pressure the QB.

Whit and his coaching staff have made us a top 25 program with limitations by doing this one thing better (data supported) than everyone else. This is what Alex Jensen brings to the table.

I wouldn’t assume that we are scheming 2 LB’s exclusively. We played 3 LB sets with Fotu quite a bit in 2020. Also, have we ever started a LB as a freshman? I don’t know that Calvert and Tufaga play ahead of Kaho at LB if we keep Kaho at LB.

JQJ is on campus now. Spring reps help Brewer, but Rising still has 2 years in the program and won the job last year. If Rising isn’t fully healed, then I think Brewer’s the guy too, but if both are healthy I’m taking Rising.
