No tape on 247 but 4.39 40 always sounds good for a DB

With only 4 teams again this year, it is still going to come down to teams with 1 or fewer losses which the Pac hasn’t produced since 2016. Until a Pac team can manage that, everyone is still playing for the NY6 autobid that comes with winning the conference.

Knowledgeable fans of any sport are the minority. Requiring a certain level of competency smacks of elitism and has the potential to drive away future fans. From a financial standpoint, I’m sure that any school would rather have a full stadium / arena who can at least manage to stand up and yell whenever the scoreboard tells them to than a…[Read more]

I was replying to Utesbyfive who shouldn’t have gotten a downvote for posting actual Utah news but it isn’t always easy to tell since all replies to the OP get put below. I know all about Chinng and his troll.

Not sure why you got downvoted. If we are being honest, I’ve been waiting for him to decommit since Alabama offered. Close to home, chance to play for a team that is always in the National Title conversation.,, at some point you have to wonder if the only reason it took this long was that Alabama’s original offer was contingent on others they…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Most crushing/saddest game as a Ute fan in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
The University of Utah football team has taught me a few things over the years. Two that stand out are:
2008 against Oregon State. I turned off the game when OSU scored with 2:18 left to go up 28-20. Called up my roommate from my days on the hill and proceeded to launch into a diatribe on what a crap team I was forced to root for run by a crap…[Read more]

I half-agree. I think there is a good possibility Utah takes 2 Qb’s this cycle but it will be more about transfers from the current room and not specifically about Wilson’s senior year.

Bishop and Kuithe were listed as pre-season 2nd team AA (I think by Athlon. The list is on 247’s News Feed) and Tafuna was 3rd team so you are decent company with that pick.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Question for those who know more than me (most people) in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
depends on the linebacker. you weren’t going to sub out Hanson, C. Barton, Lloyd unless you absolutely had to. If your room is roughly the same skill level, you try to find ways to leverage their individual skillsets.
Utah has never had a really deep LB room (playable bodies) so we don’t know how Scalley/Swan will handle it. Over the last…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Kuithe interview with Bill Riley in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
Kuithe got hurt against Arizona State so roughly 3 months prior to Rising. The difference is that Kuithe’s position, and his importance to the team, relies on him getting his speed back while Rising is less dependent on that aspect.
Recovery isn’t a linear process so Kuithe may have been describing a plateau instead of a setback. Without…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Breakout Player Prediction in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
I feel like both Vaki and Jackson are expected to be team leaders and starters this year so they’ve already had their breakout. I’ve got my eye on Medlock pushing past Karene Reid by season’s end and Money Parks being the top pass-catcher (non-Kuithe division).

Relegation gets brought up about once a decade (and I’m in favor of it). Here are some articles from 2012 after the last round of conference realignment. SBNation

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Wilson Elite 11 Finalist in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
Classic example of moving the goalpoasts and then posting inaccurate information. Of your list above: Nate Johnson, Travis Wilson, Troy Williams and Cooper Bateman were not finalists per the link.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Wilson Elite 11 Finalist in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
I don’t believe I said anything about Costelli or Tuttle being finalists. Nate Johnson was listed in the article and I added two names that I knew had been involved but weren’t listed without analysis.
