sure, no one is getting Lotto type money out of it. But if you can add 5% on top of your salary through multiple books – which also helps with tenure – it’s a worthy venture. It’s not like Prof’s don’t have plenty of time to pump those things out.
I remember taking a philosophy class (at a different school) where I had to buy 4 of his books.…[Read more]

it was tough to put the perfect 10 on hiatus but my sister quilted me a one of kind, hooded wrap(?) to wear at cold weather games. I thought I’d show it off for awhile before putting ms Dabritz back where she belongs.

straight into the author’s/professor’s pocket after passing through the publisher. Prof’s who get to assign their own books make a pretty nice supplemental income that isn’t taxed as such since it is considered royalties.
My father rewrote the science curriculum for his local school district and then published a k-12 primer with a ton of…[Read more]

surely you can’t be suggesting that 25% of the classes I was forced to take at the U didn’t come from departments which aren’t fully supportable without the graduation requirement?
Student fees support many departments that would fail otherwise. Drama, Art History, Philosophy, Nutrition.,, just a few examples of departments that exist solely…[Read more]

I realize that this thread was started because you have some familiarity with the kid so I’m not knocking you.
At the same time, I would hope the staff is looking further afield than 45 minutes north or south to fill spots. When Jaden Rashada is available and reportedly considering going to Georgia where he would compete with other 4 or 5 stars…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Now spring practice is over – what do you think… in the forum Football 1 year ago
I wouldn’t say everything has to go wrong for Utah to end up with 9 wins. To me that’s the starting point (Vegas line and also the average Utah season since 2015) and then I look at each position group to see whether improvement is expected or just hoped for.
I think we are all counting on improved QB play as long as Rising stays healthy so I…[Read more]

9-3. Too many new opponents to plan for and while I think Utah’s roster is one of the best in the league, I don’t think it’s so much better that it can withstand key injuries. I envision incremental progress at most positions over 2023 and a healthy Rising runs Ludwig’s scheme very well. But I think the O-Line is setting up to be better in 2025…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic I believe Isaac Wilson is our QB of the future in the forum Football 1 year ago
The biggest problem with any breakdown is that none of us know the play call. All we can do is try to interpret based on what happened, what should have happened. i.e., in the reporting for the spring game it was mentioned that the D was only playing cover 2 and not blitzing. So I had to assume the most vanilla of responsibility assignments and…[Read more]

Tony, what did I do wrong. I thought if all the tags said twitter instead of X, that it would just show the clip?

This is the clip I described from. I find it interesting to do “stop-action” so that you can see how each player reacts to what it happening. On the clip, if you can time your pause for the 4 second mark, you see Blocker in full sprint at the 25, Allen in full sprint at the 20, and Calderella turned like he is fielding a punt at the 13. 42 is…[Read more]

Cover 2 means corners start at 5 yards off the LOS and are responsible for the flat and shallow (up to 10 yard) patterns while passing off the deeper routes to the safeties who have deep half coverage. In a game, the DB’s will try to disguise it better but I believe the D was only running cover-2 so it’s not like anyone should have gotten…[Read more]

nice offensive PI to stop the pick 6. I don’t think it was Snowden on the coverage. Looked like maybe the # was in the 20’s.

Spavital was the OC for Cal during the Goff/Webb years and last year. What they ran in 2023 is more similar to that era than the Wilcox offenses with his other OC’s.

tunnel vision cam is back with a turnover worthy ball that a competent defender at minimum knocks down if not taking the other way for a house call. instead, the highly touted transfer stopped his feet, turned the wrong way and failed to at least put a hand up when he read Kuithe’s eyes that the ball was coming to the exact spot that Rising…[Read more]

wasn’t he wearing a brace in the picture? I guess it could have been just one legging but I assumed brace.
