Their offense has looked better than ours… but their defense is apparently terrible.

Someone needs to ask Kyle Whittingham these questions…

As I understand it, the trucks are just 6 month leases.

Is this going to be a one-time thing, or are they planning to do the trucks every year?

It has been 5+ weeks of hearing that he is ‘close’ and might play. My definition of ‘close’ must be different than yours.

I ‘support’ them as well and wish them nothing but the best. However, I don’t support all the claims propagated by those ‘in the know’ about what was truly happening.

Why have we heard with every passing week that Cam was close to playing? What a bunch of baloney. Time to move on from this for the season.

I was going to say that it would be terrible for Cam’s first game back to be against a good team like USC. Then I remembered that USC’s defense sucks… so… maybe?

The offense scored what was effectively a garbage-time touchdown. I don’t think that is handling it pretty well.

The defense is great. I wish people would stop making excuses about the offense.

Except the UCLA game isn’t the only game where we’ve seen this kind of play calling.

I am getting an impression from some people on this board that seem to say “We won, so it must’ve been a good strategy.”

I still don’t understand why people want to blame the offensive woes on Johnson. Sure, he is limited in some ways; new quarterbacks usually experience a learning curve.

The play calling on offense has been pretty terrible. How can Johnson prove that he can throw the ball if you call ‘run up the middle’ almost every down?

I didn’t realize that targeting could be called on a hit that wasn’t against the head. So, that was news to me while watching the game.

This is the way. The only way to beat a stacked box is to run it up the middle every play 😉.

This is my biggest concern about the defense. Utah’s pass coverage has looked really bad at times, especially deep. I think as soon as they face a good QB who can throw downfield, Utah will be in trouble if the offense can’t sustain drives and score points.

4-0 is great, but I disagree with your claims about running the ball.

UCLA knew Utah was going to keep running the ball in the second half. There was nothing creative and no real attempts to mix it up. As a result, UCLA was able to stop Utah and force a punt on every offensive possession in the second half.

Yeah, not sure what it is about the night games. The day games can feel almost dead by comparison. I am not a fan of mid-day or morning start times.

I prefer the evening start times so the game bridges over into the night, but not the late night. 8:30pm starts are too late.

I like this combo, but I will never stop hating this font for the numbers.
