Laumea should also be listed as NFL. As should Keaton Bills.

So is UC-San Diego. Seems like we got a pretty good Tight End out of there a few years back.
Obviously, most FCS players aren’t Dalton Kincaid. But if a player is good, I don’t care where they were playing. Obviously I don’t know if this guy is good, just know that “He was at Holy Cross” isn’t enough to say he’s not good.

krindor replied to the topic Transfer Portal comings and goings! in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
Because if you wait until after the bowl games, you’ve also waited until after most HS recruits have signed. And the HS recruits want to know who is at their program and the coaches want to know what holes they have. So they’ve shoehorned the portal in before early signing day.
Meaning that December (and late November) is the busiest month for a…[Read more]

Biggest issue with an NIL cap is that the courts would near-immediately strike it down and it would open up the NCAA to serious damages

With the amount of viewers and money that bowls bring in, I can’t see them going away honestly

krindor replied to the topic Fox Sports Bowl Prediction in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
The most common prediction (by far) is against Maryland in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Sometimes you see other opponents in the LV Bowl, but that bowl seems far and away the most likely (with occasional mention of the Sun Bowl and now apparently the Holiday Bowl)

We may not like it, but it would make a certain sense.
Barnes has gotten the opportunity and proves himself competent, so doesn’t want to go back to the bench for his last year. He wants to play, I get that.
And the reality is that he’s likely not going to get a good P5 opportunity unless the team is truly desperate for a QB. And BYU is local…[Read more]

Bit of a miscommunication here.
The post you reference is NOT saying Ute Hub is trashing the Big 12. It’s referencing a different post on UteHub that asked what happened to Utah’s online reputation and saying it should be obvious – that so many on Twitter have been trashing the Big 12 that of course it makes Utah fans come off…[Read more]

krindor replied to the topic Lamar Radcliffe de-commit in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
Radcliffe is an interesting case. (Caveat that I don’t have all his film and wouldn’t be the person most qualified to break it down anyway)
He had an incredible sophomore season and got recruiting sites as a composite high 3 star.
Then he missed all of his junior year with injury… But his recruiting rating kept going up until he was a…[Read more]

krindor replied to the topic Classless of AZ in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
Arizona has repeatedly been mentioned as one of the strongest and best organized NIL collectives (a bit of a surprise given their relative position in CFB pecking order), so I’m aure that contributes
But…., they’ve also lost a lot of their top recruits recently. For 2024, they have two 4 star recruits and then another 4 who are 3-stars but are…[Read more]

krindor replied to the topic Pac-12 Championship path scenario in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
At this point it’s pretty tough to get through every possibility. There are 131072 different ways that the rest of the PAC12 season could play out. In 31808 of those, Utah ends up at least tied for second.
Trying ot figure out tiebreakers there gets ugly. Right now the idea is to beat Washington next week. And hope that Oregon and/or…[Read more]

krindor replied to the topic Has the #1 NFL pick ever come from a non-top25 team? in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
Fairly frequently
In the last decade alone,
2017 Myles Garrett (2016 Texas A&M finished 8-5 and unranked)
2016 Jared Goff (2015 Cal finished 8-5 and unranked)
2013 Eric Fisher (2012 Central Michigan was 7-6 and nowhere near ranked) -

Yeah, conceding the touchdown there doesn’t seem like the right choice. Holding them to a FG wins the game for you.

Our last road win against a ranked team (not including neutral site as road) was against Colorado in 2020.
Our last 5 road games against ranked opponents have gone
Loss (2022, #12 Oregon)
Loss (2022, #18 UCLA)
Win (2020, #21 Colorado)
Loss (2017, #16 Washington)
Loss (2017, #13 USC)Prior to that we also beat #13 Oregon at Autzen in 2015
That…[Read more]

The RB situation is unfortunate…but realistically, not something that could be avoided. If we’ve got JaQuinden Jackson, Micah Bernard, Jaylon Glover and Chris Curry as our top 4 and ALL of them get hurt, yeah it’s going to leave us relying on unproven players. But I think that’s basically true for any program. And luckily we do have a bunch…[Read more]

It’s early, but right now Covey is #2 in both total punt return yardage and in average punt return yardage (interestingly #1 there is Rashid Shaheed from Weber St).

krindor replied to the topic Does a loss against OSU virtually eliminate us from the P12 CCG race? in the forum Football 1 year, 7 months ago
Obviously makes it harder, but I don’t think it eliminates us at all.
Honestly I’d be mildly shocked if ANY team makes it through the PAC gauntlet without taking at least one loss. And there certainly won’t be two teams that do so, so a single loss isn’t going to end anyone. Last year we even made it with two losses (though we did need some…[Read more]
