Very underwhelming career at Utah.
Came in with a lot of hype and never really lived up to it.

Hopefully this makes room for some of the younger guys but probably means Utah goes hard after a high quality CB in the portal.

The only negative is it makes Utah thin in the secondary for the bowl game.

Utah isn’t a blue blood like Ohio St, Michigan, Alabama, or Georgia where guys are willing to sit for years on the bench waiting their turn.

They come to Utah with the idea they will be starting by their Sophomore year and when it doesn’t work out they transfer.

The portal giveth and the portal taketh away.

If Utah needs LBs the portal is full of goods ones.

Smith’s 3rd year he has a veteran team. If he loses tonight he needs to be on the hotseat.

Rose was a redshirt last year. They are trying to get him a medical redshirt this year which he can’t play. Not even one down or he’d lose a year of eligibility.

To be considered a medical redshirt he has to sit out the whole year

Cam’s returning is gonna have a ripple effect on guys staying who might not have otherwise.

Arizona has been beating up in the bottom half of the Pac12 during their four game win streak.
Utah is the best D they will have faced all year. Fifta is not a mobile QB Utah will have at least 5 sacks and a couples picks.

Early litmus test for Smith. It’s his third year with a veteran team. This is his make or break season

Rising was a borderline NFL QB prospect before the injury now if he goes pro after the season he will go undrafted and have to hope some team signs him as an UDFA and he lands on a practice squad somewhere.

Seems like the perfect replacement for Kuithe

If Rising Kuithe and Bernard all come back next season with this defense Utah is the runaway favorite to win the Big12.

Which means a playoff berth in the CFB championship at the end of the year.
