That’s fair.

I think we have as good of a chance as any team in the Big 12 to win the conference. However, I don’t believe it will be easy.

ProudUte started the topic 2024 Polynesian recruiting in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
I read an article recently that said Utah went 0 for 12 recruiting Polynesians this recruiting season. I thought that’s not good. The article is somewhat wrong in the Utah signed Ellis and his dad is Samoan.
Nonetheless, this year was not a good year for us in landing the top Polynesian players. The Polynesian connection has been the…[Read more]

Pedro, I respect your opinion on this matter. However, I don’t completely agree and apparently, many others also don’t agree. But, no hate from me because you have a different opinion. I appreciate you having the guts to post something you feel that may go against the majority on this board.
Keep posting.

This may be great news. He has had some great QBs at OSU like Stroud. Utah needs a QB “whisperer” to help develop our young QBs.

Thanks for posting this article. It’s a good read. The article first said it was kneed surgery he needed and then it talks about replacing some femur and cartilage. The bottom line is it will come from a cadaver and they need a match. The article also says he will not be able to walk for three months. So, it is not an easy surgery.
I do love…[Read more]

Whitt said that when he has surgery is out of his control. Someone on this board indicated he needed a kneecap replaced and they were waiting on a donor match. I had never heard of a kneecap transplant.

This is just not true. There are dozens of examples where the backup came in and did great. Just look at Arizona this year.

If Cam Rising finds his groove and stays healthy, the 2024 season could be amazing. A healthy Cam Rising makes things happen. Our passing game and running game will be better. I suspect we will average about 450 yards per game and control TOP.
However, if Cam suffers an injury or setback, I am concerned about the 2024 season. We have three…[Read more]

Looks like you posted this one minute before me. 🙂
They really respect the Utes and don’t see much good about BYU other than a fanbase that travels well.

Look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJhJf3GZGo0&t=1512s
They talk about Utah at the 36:30 mark. They are very high on Utah. If you want to have a good laugh, listen to their take on BYU. One guy says, “I honestly don’t know what BYU adds to the conference.” 🙂

ProudUte replied to the topic Can we stop with AZ in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
I don’t know how good or bad Arizona will be in 2024. What I do know is Fifita is a heckuva QB and he has an All-American WR. Losing their head coach “could” be huge. However, I have seen coaches come in and take the recruits from a previous coach and have great success. I don’t know how many players Arizona has lost to graduation, portal, and…[Read more]

I agree with most of your post, but I am not nearly as high on UCF as you. But, you are right about their easy schedule. I don not like starting our Big 12 schedule at possibly the toughest place to play in the conference. I don’t like traveling across the country on Thanksgiving week to place UCF.

ProudUte started the topic I don't much like out 2024 football schedule in the forum Football 1 year, 5 months ago
It is not terrible, but there are a few things I don’t like.
First – We play our first Big 12 game on the road at OSU (a tough place to play against a solid team).
Second – Three of our first four conference games appear to be the toughest – OSU, Arizona, and TCU. The schedule is front-loaded. I would like to get our feet wet first before…[Read more]

My feelings exactly. The QB situation was botched.

I was thinking the same thing.
I we still had Vaki, Bishop, Jackson, Vele, etc. – a national championship “may” be in reach. As it sits now, I think we may have a good season and possibly a Big 12 championship.

Do you agree? I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I get his point. On the other hand – I think the staff handled the QB situation poorly. But, I do agree that 8 wins with 30 guys missing one or more games is quite an accomplishment.
The article also discusses Utah’s transition into the Big 12.

ProudUte replied to the topic Best NFL players who played college in Utah in the forum Football 1 year, 6 months ago
You are right – I did consider Bart Oates. But, I did not realize he was a 5X pro bowler. It comes down to Jordon Gress and Baert Oates. Bolles has a chance to surpass them.
Interestinf stat on Jordaon Gross. He did not allow a sack during his junior and senior seasons at Utah. That is crazy.

Great names. But, I did not include Luther Elliss because Merlin Olsen is far and away the best Dlineman to come out of a Utah College. The same thing goes for Speedy Thomas. Steve Smith had a much more prolific pro career. I honestly did not think or consider Costa or Trumpy.
