Box was stacked all night. You can expect it every time BB and NJ play. Another Ludwig conundrum for me, why does he attempt (one single time) to make them pay for loading the box and then fall back to dink, dunk and 2 yard runs? For me sometimes Ludwig is on another planet with his plans and playcalling and we’ll never know how much Whit is i…[Read more]

Yeah, it’s only the right decision to sit on a lead when you win. Whit has lost games sitting on a lead. That 2020 loss at UW when up 3 TDs at halftime was infuriating.

Shane Matthews is a former Gator QB, he knows what he’s doing. I’m trying to be cautiously optimistic cuz I can’t forget:
1) We haven’t beaten a P5 team outside of the PAC in years
2) Blue chip teams can out athlete us and Etienne is a problem
3) Blue chip teams more often than not beat us or at least neutralize us in the trenches
4) We are pai…[Read more] -

I’ve had the same idea, could do it with Nate Johnson as well. Closest we’ve come to running it is with Covey off jet sweep action. It can’t be an original idea, there must be some reason why it’s not being done. At the same time, RPO was invented by Alex Smith on the field accidentally. It wasn’t an idea drawn up on a whiteboard. Innovatio…[Read more]

Leave it to Krindor to have the data, literally all the data. Glad you’re a hybrid Utah fan. BTW – any insight as to why Harbaugh doesn’t see Huntley as clear cut QB2? Was it the goal line fumble in last year’s playoffs? The play call was stupid (sneak from the 2 yard line) and OC was let go. Don’t know if Huntley is in Harbaugh’s doghouse.

Last week’s NFL preseason games I followed both Snoop (trying to win Ravens QB2 job) and Cole Fotheringham (trying to make Raiders roster with 2 TE ahead of him).
Snoop was player of game and Cole was highest rated TE that played preseason week 1. Reports below…you guys have any news on how other Utes NFL preseason is going?

Coach Whittingham is the common thread in the “throw game” from Jon Hays to Bryson Barnes.

I’m watching the Johnny Manziel documentary right now. Kliff Kingsbury was his O Coordinator at A&M his RS Freshman year. His first game was a loss against Florida. Kingsbury took responsibility for the loss saying he tried to make Johnny play within the system. Second game against SMU he took the reins off and just let Johnny do his thing and t…[Read more]

Welcome back! Looking forward to this year’s game with BU and future Big 12 play. I think your AD is referring to ASU. I wouldn’t take anything as anti Big 12 from what has been said or done by incoming PAC admins during this process. It was alot of emotion from a proud, but fading conference. Things should only get better from here.

Ahh the old Barnes was thrown into the game without preparation and shouldn’t be evaluated on that. Go watch last year’s Wazzu game, which despite Whit’s shenanigans, Barnes was prepped for and then proceeded to win fugly circa Utah 2010’s.
How much more evidence do we need to conclude this and past Whit coaching staffs struggle to evaluat…[Read more]

There’s an interesting indicator to note here. Top programs in terms of recruiting rankings in the SEC, Big 10 and ACC are also the same teams regularly winning conference championships and going to the CFP (Bama, Georgia, Ohio St, Michigan, Clemson). Simply put, recruiting = wins. Before we even get to development, at which we are elite, look a…[Read more]

Botching this round of misalignment would cost Utah athletics dearly in program value (currently #33). That’s not only a fireable offense, it could be career ending. When almost every athletics program is seeking promotion, who wants someone that succeeded in demotion of a program under their charge?

Nonsense, we’ve been over this before. Hill was just as responsible if not more than President for getting us into P5. Hill was a transformer and change agent. From my perspective Harlan is a sustainer. You don’t want a sustainer leading athletics in major realignment.

I’d be more confident with Chris Hill at AD in this critical period than Mark Harlan.
