chinngiskhaan replied to the topic New Wr Commit! in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
He’s a wr1? That seems like an awfully optimistic point of view. He was on a worse team last year and had 300 yds receiving. Vele and parks both had more yards last year… and Pittman is a senior. Unless he is waaay better than he has showed his entire career he’s at best WR2 on a good team,
Should be a good return guy thoug.

Dystopia’s obsessively posting about certain things makes me wonder if he’s a troll, or if he has some sort of thing going on like Asbergers.

chinngiskhaan started the topic One thing I want this upcoming football season in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
A punt returner that can actually return punts. If they are going to muff punts, I’d rather have Vele… but it would be huge to have someone back there that could actually make someone miss. Vele must be the slowest P5 punt returner, if not the slowest in P5 and G5. Dude has great hands, but he has no business being a returner.

That is not ideal. Hopefully we can get someone that will actually play this season.

Solid player. Nearly 500 yards receiving as a freshman.
I’m not sure I’d pick him over our other targets, but it is fun to see TSPP fans suffer a little after all of their squawking recently.

chinngiskhaan started the topic Just watched Kincaid's highlights against USC in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
One thing stuck out almost as much as Kincaid’s ridiculous ability to catch the football.
It seemed like Kincaid was almost never the most open guy out there, and Cam repeatedly threw him the ball. He needs to develop that kind of chemistry with ALL his receivers, not just one. There were times when he threw underneath to a blanketed kincaid when…[Read more]

Edgemont Auto in Provo. Blake is as honest as they come. They won’t be the cheapest place, but it will be a fair price and they won’t upsell you on things you don’t actually need. I have no idea what they do/don’t do, but if they don’t do that sort of thing I would trust him to give you a recommendation for a place that does.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Does anyone have any idea what’s going on with Asst. Bball Coach Morris in the forum Basketball (Men) 2 years, 2 months ago
– We aren’t getting better if we don’t get better players – TRUE
– None of the underclassmen on the team have any shot at the NBA – Also TRUE
– A diamond-in-the-rough player is the only way we’ll get an NBA-caliber player at this point – Likely true given recent recruiting struggles. Don’t think so? Prove me wrong. -
chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Choooo Choooooooooo in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
We need a deep threat to draw guys off of Kuithe. If we can nab someone like that in the portal we will be golden (assuming Cam is ready day 1 and stays healthy).
While this is the best mix of talent and experience we’ve ever had on defense, we don’t yet know who the leader of the D will be. I’m sure someone has stepped up already, but it will be…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan started the topic Recruiting highly rated QBs that don't know how to play QB in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
JJ, Nate, Costelli – Great athletes that are clearly not good enough at the QB parts of playing the QB position.
IMO this is a bad strategy. I don’t think it would be fair to say we have totally relied on that strategy. With Nate we also picked up Rose. JJ came together with someone else as well. However, we have used it to some degree.
I don’t…[Read more]

Not anymore excited than I was prior to the spring game. The game was 100% meaningless. No reliable information can be gleaned from the spring game. It’s just fun for fans, and somewhat helpful for players.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Pass defense… in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
He had his moments, but man… pretty much every time there was a big play against our defense he was at fault in some way. I understand that comes with the territory of being the last line of defense, but when you are that guy you have to make the plays that are there to make.

Yeah… I’ll care about wr recruits when they prove they can actually catch and get open. We have only had 1 of those guys since carrington left (two if you very generously include Vele)

I can see double the carries, but not double the snaps. Bernard should be the guy on most obvious passing downs. JJ should be the guy most of the time when running is advantageous.

I get the feeling that Vaughn hasn’t quite put the technique aspect of the position together like they had hoped he would. I could be totally wrong, but it just feels like he’s getting passed up by other guys.
Hopefully, that isn’t true because a lockdown corner with his athleticism and length would be a tremendous asset. Either way, we have a…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Cole Bishop getting Preseason Love in the forum Football 2 years, 3 months ago
We won’t be better without Phillips. Vaughn has ridiculous length and he’s a great athlete, but he is very raw. Broughton is good, but he was never the shutdown guy Phillips was. If they both take substantial steps forward we might be as good as last year at that position. That isn’t likely though.
