I think there are lots of TSPP fans that would admit that.

I’d post it there, but I got shadow banned for sharing a story about a drunk and belligerent BYU fan.
AAAAANYWAY… I was just thinking that the TSPP football team is in serious danger of being in the same situation as our men’s basketball team. The TSPP football team has a history of being relevant nationally (for a shorter period of time in…[Read more] -

Does Nebraska have zero fan support these days? Seems like we are worse than the Nebraska of college basketball.
There are so so so many problems with CBB. It just sucks. The whole effing thing sucks except for the tourney… Take away the excitement of that, and the product is awful. Terrible offenses. Nobody going mano a mano on defense.
The…[Read more]

That local kid superstar (or undiscovered freak of nature) would have to be so good that he could take our current team of leftovers to the second round of the NCAA tournament at least twice. Then our recruiting can pick up a little, the fan support will return, and we’ll be back on track.

I didn’t watch the game, but I can still help out with a few things.
– No Exacte cannot shoot. If you can’t make em against the worst competition you’ll face all year, at home, in a meaningless game… you can’t make them against Pac12 competition when it actually matters. If he could shoot the ball he wouldn’t have come to Utah.

Another discussion about whether or not we can handle UA with our B team got me thinking about how far our team has come. We just beat a decent Wazzu team with our QB, 3 running backs, and our best receiver out (and tge other one out for the end)… at THEIR HOUSE!
Coach Whitt is such a stud. -

My uninformed predictions
Phillips: gonzo
Kuithe: gone (slightly less likely, but still highly likely)
Rising: probably gone depending on his goals/graduation status. It would be dumb to stay if he wants a career in the NFL. Next year is not going to go better for him than this year.
Broughton: Not gone
Vele: LOL no… I mean, he might, but…[Read more] -

This is just a hunch, but maybe… just maybe, the coaches had a reason for replacing Redding with Noyes? Maybe he performed far better in camp?

Coaching: solid coaching all around, especially Whitt and Scalley. Ludwig gets a pass because he likely planned for Rising to play (Whitt says Rising made the decision himself to not play about 30 minutes before kickoff). That being said, I am really tired ofnot throwing the ball into the endzone. It’s like Ludwig believes you have to run it…[Read more]

I’m not onlyu… and maybe Mataele was hurt, but I don’t mind him being replaced one bit. He has been a MASSIVE step down from Guidry, and usually makes more mistakes than good plays.

You are going to have to be more specific than just “Parks” there is more than one person with that name. I assume you are referring to Ricky Parks?

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic How do you cope or overcome the intense nervousness while watching our game? in the forum Football 2 years, 9 months ago
Honestly, Ever since Ty and Aaron passed, I’ve completely stopped thinking of football as more than just a game. Sure, I get excited and scream and shout when we do well, but I don’t get upset when we lose anymore.
I will NEVER forget going to the BYU v Utah game in Provo when Utah lost to BYU. I was sitting a few rows up from the Southwest…[Read more]

That’s nice… what does it have to do with my post? Losing CPIII alone is not a guarantee that the D will be worse overall. Yes, he is our best defender, but everyone else is coming back. I think our defense takes a step forward next year if our ST can get their act together.

Just some thoughts on why our defense seems to be on a steady decline over the last few years from stellar to what I would call below average.
The first thing I thought of saying is that I don’t think it’s a defensive coaching issue, at least not at the DC level. I think Morgan is doing a great job.
Also, I think the increase in offensive…[Read more] -

Being bottom 6th of the pac12 isn’t optimal?
Yes, it’s bad… but it could be worse. Imagine how bad that team would have been without BC last year.
One side note: BC would be an excellent piece on a team as a #2 or #3 option. He shouldn’t be a team’s best player though. He isn’t good enough at any 1 thing to be that kind of player.

When Carlson is gone, we don’t have anyone good enough to be anything close to a first team all pac12 player. No centerpiece. Keita was a huge win, but AFAIK he isn’t really a viable option offensively (could be wrong). If this team doesn’t pull in a major recruit, we will be taking a huge step back next year.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Hope in strength in the forum Basketball (Men) 2 years, 9 months ago
I think that’s a fair assessment. I haven’t looked at the other Pac teams to see where we fit in. We have 1 likely reliable shooter in Madsen. That scares me. If one or two others can make 35% or more that would be huge. We can’t have Carlson being our only scoring threat again. We have a ton of depth on this team, but it isn’t high quality…[Read more]
