chinngiskhaan started the topic Just watched Kincaid's highlights against USC in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
One thing stuck out almost as much as Kincaid’s ridiculous ability to catch the football.
It seemed like Kincaid was almost never the most open guy out there, and Cam repeatedly threw him the ball. He needs to develop that kind of chemistry with ALL his receivers, not just one. There were times when he threw underneath to a blanketed kincaid when…[Read more]

Edgemont Auto in Provo. Blake is as honest as they come. They won’t be the cheapest place, but it will be a fair price and they won’t upsell you on things you don’t actually need. I have no idea what they do/don’t do, but if they don’t do that sort of thing I would trust him to give you a recommendation for a place that does.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Does anyone have any idea what’s going on with Asst. Bball Coach Morris in the forum Basketball (Men) 2 years, 3 months ago
– We aren’t getting better if we don’t get better players – TRUE
– None of the underclassmen on the team have any shot at the NBA – Also TRUE
– A diamond-in-the-rough player is the only way we’ll get an NBA-caliber player at this point – Likely true given recent recruiting struggles. Don’t think so? Prove me wrong. -

We need a deep threat to draw guys off of Kuithe. If we can nab someone like that in the portal we will be golden (assuming Cam is ready day 1 and stays healthy).
While this is the best mix of talent and experience we’ve ever had on defense, we don’t yet know who the leader of the D will be. I’m sure someone has stepped up already, but it will be…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan started the topic Recruiting highly rated QBs that don't know how to play QB in the forum Football 2 years, 3 months ago
JJ, Nate, Costelli – Great athletes that are clearly not good enough at the QB parts of playing the QB position.
IMO this is a bad strategy. I don’t think it would be fair to say we have totally relied on that strategy. With Nate we also picked up Rose. JJ came together with someone else as well. However, we have used it to some degree.
I don’t…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic R/W spring game in the forum Football 2 years, 3 months ago
Not anymore excited than I was prior to the spring game. The game was 100% meaningless. No reliable information can be gleaned from the spring game. It’s just fun for fans, and somewhat helpful for players.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Pass defense… in the forum Football 2 years, 3 months ago
He had his moments, but man… pretty much every time there was a big play against our defense he was at fault in some way. I understand that comes with the territory of being the last line of defense, but when you are that guy you have to make the plays that are there to make.

Yeah… I’ll care about wr recruits when they prove they can actually catch and get open. We have only had 1 of those guys since carrington left (two if you very generously include Vele)

There, fixed it for you.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Bartle's thoughts on Saturday's scrimmage in the forum Football 2 years, 3 months ago
I can see double the carries, but not double the snaps. Bernard should be the guy on most obvious passing downs. JJ should be the guy most of the time when running is advantageous.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Good read on Utah’s 6’4 cornerback transfer from the SEC. in the forum Football 2 years, 3 months ago
I get the feeling that Vaughn hasn’t quite put the technique aspect of the position together like they had hoped he would. I could be totally wrong, but it just feels like he’s getting passed up by other guys.
Hopefully, that isn’t true because a lockdown corner with his athleticism and length would be a tremendous asset. Either way, we have a…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Cole Bishop getting Preseason Love in the forum Football 2 years, 3 months ago
We won’t be better without Phillips. Vaughn has ridiculous length and he’s a great athlete, but he is very raw. Broughton is good, but he was never the shutdown guy Phillips was. If they both take substantial steps forward we might be as good as last year at that position. That isn’t likely though.

Wow… Two fallacies in one opening sentence, Impressive!
No. I am not saying that they are on par with the LK players you mentioned. Where did you get the idea that I was saying that?
Also, I did make an argument of my own, and refuted your bad argument.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Holt and Mecham to the portal in the forum Basketball (Men) 2 years, 4 months ago
This is a terrible attempt at analogizing two completely different situations. As you point out the guys that have left are not impact players. Holt rarely played, I don’t even know who Mecham is, Saunders rarely played and is on his 3rd or 4th team now. The guys you mentioned from LK’s tenure (martinez, plummer, Larsson, Allen) were all core…[Read more]

Chris Jones is at least a good coach that had done a lot of good for the U (and the state of Utah) prior to LK hiring him.

Ugh… Seriously?
This team is ahead of schedule. That much is obvious. We took pretty much the exact roster we had last year and won 6 more games (all of those extra wins came in conference, not because of a terrible OOC schedule).
Worster, Madsen, Carlson and Stefanovic all showed clear improvement from last year. Carlson and Madsen in…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Can we quit buying the facade? Please in the forum Football 2 years, 4 months ago
I don’t think that is necessarily the case. The problem with the media deal (and the comparatively low money amount) may be the result of perceived instability rather than a reflection of the value of a stable pac 12.
Could a stable Big12 be worth more than a stable Pac12? Of course. Is it clear that this is the case though? Nope, there are o…[Read more]

Kuz had 30, Jakob had 23 (and 13 boards), Delon had 7 points, 11 assists, and 3 steals (IIRC).
They are all great representatives of the UofU.
