Having a 12 team CFP with 10 or more teams from Big10/SEC would be about as interesting as March Madness with no teams from the “mid majors” and all 64 teams from about 6 power conferences.

Remember back in the 80s when BYU was named by SI calling them the most hated team in college football?

Pretty much every PAC12 conference basketball game has been televised on a channel I can get on Dish (ESPN/ESPNU/ESPN2, ABC, Fox/Foxsports1/2, PAC12). I’ve watched a number of Big12 hoops games (including battle of the Cougars when Houston visited Provo) and had to go over to the ESPN+ to view it.

I really Iiked the after dark football recap show every Sunday morning and will miss that. Big12 has nothing like that

ESPN+ carries for BIG12 essentially what DISH (and some cable) subscribers have been seeing on PAC12 network.

USC is in a tailspin (one win in last nine games), but Utes have had just one good game in the last few weeks (the heartbreaker against Zona). Very much need to win this one if there is any chance to try to get back into the tourney discussion.

As I feared and expected, after Saturday’s loss, Utah fell all the way to ‘last team in’ in bracketology. Need to find some wins on the road somewhere but I’m somewhat doubtful of our chances at this point.

For a game with 2 teams I really don’t care for (very much wanted to see Detroit win a few weeks ago), turned out to be an entertaining game and had no stress since I didn’t care who won.

Got a bit old seeing a certain singer every 5 minutes but guess the network knows her fans very much wanted to see her that often.

At halftime when teams came back out for shooting practice, Devon spent all the time practicing throws. I watched him and while not making all of them, he made more than he missed during that time. After going 0-4 in the first half, he made 2 of 3 after the break (and his miss spun around and came out).

Arizona State on Saturday night is a massively important game and hopefully this heroic effort which fell just short didn’t completely drain the team’s energy. Very much need to have a large, loud, and supportive crowd be there (on time) to help lift them to a victory.

Like Utah, the Wildcats aren’t as good on the road as on their home court. Hopefully with the early start we can have a good packed house like we did for the Colorado game. Need to be louder than our visitors.

Utah State could be interesting. The Aggies will be excited to have a chance to play Utah. They won the last meeting in Logan (and Utah then bought out another game that would have been there a few years later). Utah should win that game, but can’t overlook a motivated opponent.

Always thought that when a team is trying to preserve every possible second letting the ball roll slowly down the floor, why that is NEVER a violation (since the player you ‘pass’ the ball inbounds to has to touch it before 5 seconds elapses.)

Getting left out would feel somewhat like fans feel when their soccer team is relegated to a lower division.

Rice beat the hell out of Utah back when we played them at their home in the expanded WAC. One of the all time worst performances I have seen from a Ute team.

Please don’t go make this suggestion on any of the Big12 boards on Facebook and other platforms. Our reputation is shaky enough on many of those places as it is.

Over $100 per seat per game for our seats. Back in 1994 it was $100 per seat for the entire season.

Zona/ASU play the last weekend, but Kansas/K State play mid-season. Just don’t have all the natural pairs like we did in PAC12 with LA, Bay Area, states of Washington, Oregon, Arizona with Utah/Colorado being odd teams out. Flowers fumbling the ball into the end zone while trying to stretch the ball across the goal line instead of allowing himself to be tackled for a first and goal on the one was crushing as was the end zone pick on a pass into the triple coverage, not to mention some reckless undisciplined penalties.

I think pretty much in about 5-10 more years about 90% or more of programming (not just sports) will be streaming and probably even be that cable/satellite companies will go the way of the dinosaur.
